I don't know what many of you are talking about, but I'd get a boner if Nash somehow found a way onto our team. Plus, GMMG won't offer anything too ridiculous to get him, so if it works out, he would be worth EVERY PENNY. I can see Nash easily putting up 40+ goals (I wouldn't even be surprised if he consistently hits the 50+ goal mark) playing with the Twins (even if he doesn't mess with them at 5 on 5, he'd still get 40+ playing with Kesler 5 on 5 and with the twins on the PP.

He didn't get to play on team Canada's top line in the Olympics (or any other time) for nothing. He is a star amongst stars and would easily make our team the favorite to win 1st in the league (that is if we dont lose the twins, kesler, burrows, bieksa, hamhuis, edler, and one of our two goalies)

Off topic and not really worth a new thread. There's some speculation from the Islanders camp that they do not intend to retain P.A. Parenteau.
http://hfboards.hock...d.php?t=1206865

Just speculation, but interesting none the less. Parenteau is a play making RW

Putting up a respectable 54 and 67 points the past two seasons he's been the NHL.

Apparently he's asking for too much money for Snow to keep him, but Montreal has a huge boner for him.

Personally I think it would be interesting to see him with Kesler and Booth.

It's contract for contract. No chance were trading Schnieder for that contract. If were trading for Nash, would way rather Luongo going the other way.

Cause I am sure Luongo would like to be traded to a team that needs a desperate re-build.... Schneider would be the only logical one going there (along with some other salary) since he has no pull on where he ends up. Hell Luongo can stay in Vancouver if he wants, he isn't being forced out by management no matter what.

Well if you're given the option to stay on a contender and be a back up playing 30 games or go to a bad team to work with your old goalie coach whom you loved where you'll play 70 games and be much closer to home and have an out clause in your contract in two years, what would you do? I'd choose to play. What's the point of winning a Stanley cup when you watch it from the bench?

Go and try to convince Luongo that the Jackets will be SC contenders in the next 2/3 years.

I'm waiting...

nowhere did i state that i think luongo is going to columbus - i said trading schneider for a $7million+ contract would handicap our team.

so keep waiting, douchebag

Schneider, Burrows, Tanev and Jensen and 1st Round Pick

for

Rick Nash

This would get it done - the question is: Would you do it if you were the Canucks GM?

1) :picard: at Raymond STILL being on the team
2) Jensen will be better than Kassian so makes no sense to get rid of Jensen.
3) Burrows provides the most bang for your buck in the entire NHL and on a cap team you need those kinds of players.
4) Defense is still weak.

Yup he's still on the team
2) Jensen will be better than Kassian so makes no sense to get rid of Jensen.
Time will tell, but for now I don't think Canuck nation could swallow trading Kassian in this deal.
3) Burrows provides the most bang for your buck in the entire NHL and on a cap team you need those kinds of players.
I believe for 1 more season.
4) Defense is still weak.
I'm sure Gillis will not have all 6 guys back. But the point of this thread is not defense.

My post was simply stating that I think Columbus would make that deal. Would me, you or MG make it? - probably not, but if you want Nash it would take something close to that IMO.

All of the fans shut up and I said yes to this because its going toto be on the 1st line with Ruck nash and Ryan kesler. If we trade Alex bourrows and Maxlm lapierre and dale weise to get ryan sutter and 1 more player it will help the canucks to win next year. Also we are keeping masion ryamond with Ryan kesler also lets get ryan bobby to come too.
thank you for the best comment

Dude... brutal lines. Why is Booth on the 3rd? Why is Higgins with the Sedins?

Nash Kesler Booth
Sedin Sedin Hansen
Higgins Lapierre Kassian
Volpatti Malholtra Bitz
Raymond

Anyway... that Nash trade makes us top heavy, as in we suck.

Schneider, Raymond, Schroeder/Rodin, 1st 2012, 1st 2013

I think that would get it done.

If we are talking Columbus, the Nash deal is for Schneider not Luongo (which I know you agree with).

Columbus will need to replace Nash's offense, that is why I say Burrows, and he is affordable (although IMO this would be a huge betrayal to Burrows, so I don't think Gillis would even do this).

Those are the 2 main pieces, then we are looking at 1 to 3 more assets.

honestly, if we are getting nash, burrows is not only an option, but would be almost a necessity. they would like his low cap, and high points, and nash will probably be with the sedins anyway. plus burr is not untouchable like some may think.

Burrows also plays with two of the best playmakers in the league. Nash plays with 2nd/3rd liners and would see his point totals go to 90+ with the Sedins.

I really hope Nash gets traded at the draft, so we can put this to rest. If some how Gilis trades for him great, if not great we'll have cap space still.

Yup, Burrows is great in the regular season and even in the playoffs but you just can't expect him to battle through some of those huge defenders during the playoffs. Nash is built for the playoffs and would rip it up.

no forward on the canucks can earn more than a sedin.
