[Rumour] Canucks have attempted to acquire Brandon Dubinsky

Recommended Posts

Dubinsky was invisible at times last year, the only reason why he is available. New York is deep at center with Richards and now Kreider making an impact. Their top 6 is pretty impressive, leaving Dubinsky out of the mix. Ballard and maybe Raymond would land us Dubinsky no problem.

Dubinsky would be a great fit here, and slot in while Kesler is out for up to 2 months to start the season. Ballard would be a fit for a young New York d-core (Del Zotto, McDonagh, Marc Staal), he could add experience and leadership.

What is there to explain?

A guy that has a 4.2 million cap hit for another 3 years and had 10 goals last year. Yeah 2 previous seasons with 20+, but on a top team he is a 3rd liner.

This would be somewhat of a cap dump for the Rags, we already have one overpaid 4.2 million player.

4.2 for a third line center doesn't make sense. If anything they would move Kesler to the wing and have Booth-Dubinsky-Kesler as the second line, or even Dubinsky-Kesler-Booth.

I would much rather have Malhotra hopefully regain his 30 point defensive specialist form, then pay Dubinsky second line money to be a 40 point 3rd line center. That's just dumb.

I don't see Nash going to NY.

I don't know what the Canucks being interested in Dubinsky has anything to do with Nash.

Dubinsky is the exact type of play Gillis wants. 4.2 million for a potential 50 point center.

I donno people rag on Booth, and now you're syaing 4.2 million is over payed for a 3rd line center in his prime.

Who would you rather have Sammuellson and Wellwood?

Just don't get fans who say "just sign Gaustad or Parise" like it's a vidya game. Be joyful for a rumour that has merit, Dubinyk would be sick end of story.
