Canucks fan in chicago
Subban is not a bad pick actually, but only if we trade Schneider. Otherwise he will never get playing time....Schneider is way too young to cede his starting position. Why bother wasting a first round pick on a goalie when you are not desperate. Pears
I agree. We never seem to pick WHL kids. Its allways Euros or OHL kids. We need some tough WHL kids in our system
GradinToSmyl
Malcolm Subban... Wait what? another goalie??? We have lui, Corey, and lack and joe cannata upcoming and we'd pick a goalie? Thankfully we don't Have button as scout...
EternalCanuckFan
I wouldn't have a problem taking Subban at 26 depending on who is available. With the current rankings, if Laughton is available I would be partial to taking him but Subban is not a bad option even if he's a goalie. The goaltending position is not necessarily a bad one to be embarrassingly rich in.

canucklesmith
totally agree with this post. One thing Gillis has done well is unearthing goalies late in the draft. Btw, Maguire made that pick.

awalk
LOL you don't pick based on need you pick the BPA. Not saying Subban is or isn't the best pick but to everyone saying "we don't neeeed another goalie"... BPA...and you can never ever have too many good goalie prospects. canucklesmith
If Dalton Thrower is available at 26, I really hope the Canucks take him. Huge hitter, one of the best offensive defenceman in the WHL and beats up just about everyone he fights, including 6'4 Tom Wilson, who everyone thinks is the next Lucic. Trelane42
TSN doesn't know Jack. We have picked a number of goalies the last few drafts. I want: -Gaunce, or -Koekkoek, or -Skjei Guys like Samuelsson, Laughton, and Thrower are probably 2nd round material.

Hedman
Funny how all 3 goalies were picked by McGuire. Maybe he learned a lesson after he cried about Montreal selecting Price in the 2005 draft, nowadays known as their best player
