Tom Wilson
Stefan Matteau
Dalton Thrower
Colton Sissons

In that order.

Maguire and Button are the two most annoying analysts in hockey. I hope this travesty can be avoided in the future.

I completely agree that Button and McQuire are tools, but it does make me laugh how some of the CDC posters believe their ideas are exactly what we need.

IE....trading Lu and 2 picks to get Schenn and a pick
Trading Ballard, Raymond and a pick to get 1 player coming back

Why do a lot of CDC posters think we always have to give up more to get less back.

Usually because they are trying to give up spare parts for a superstar

What difference does it make? Gillis doesn't keep our 1st round picks, anyways.

First off, i by no means am saying that Subban is the guy to draft in the first round. However...

most of the people in this thread are idiots. You realize that the draft is meant for the future, right? Why wouldn't the Canucks draft a goaltender? Subban is probably 4-5 years out before getting to the NHL, and even then he'll come in as a backup. By the time Subban is ready to be a starter (assuming he ever does), Cory Schneider will likely be in his mid 30's. It seems about the right time to draft another solid goalie if you ask me.

So in summary, the draft is not meant to fill our current needs. It's to fill our needs 5 years from now. Comments like "we don't need a goalie" just make you look stupid.

If we ended up trading Schneider instead of Lou, drafting a goalie early actually makes sense.

It still makes sense if we keep Schneider.

Exactly, Subban would be a very useful pick.

I agree. We never seem to pick WHL kids. Its allways Euros or OHL kids. We need some tough WHL kids in our system

Because the WHL kids go early

Agreed. Once we trade a goalie we'll need one for the future. We do have Lack, but not every player pans out. And besides, if Subban turns out really good and Lack has overtaken Schneider then we can always trade one. I heard good goaltenders are hard to come by...

When did Schneider, Kesler, Daniel, Henrik, Jensen, and Schroeder get traded again?

It's a catch 22........that actually makes sense. That means Lu or Schneids might be traded before or during draft day?

Like the guy in my profile pic? 49th overall to NSH.

How about Milan Lucic??

I understand Its all hindsight so its easy for us to mention names, but Canucks need to do more homework in their own backyard and pick some tough Western League kids as prospects.

this was one of the worst mock drafts ive ever seen. Shows you how much McGuire and button really know. Grigorenko at 17? He'll probably make the top 5. Reinhart at 4? He's NOT in top 5, probably 6-8. And us and Bruins taking Vasilevski and Subban? Yeah right

I'd want:
1. Dalton Thrower
2. Tom Wilson (probably gone by then)
3. Henrik Samuelsson
4. Colton Sissons
5. Scott Laughton
In that order. C'mon Gillis, get us a good WHLer

I'm thinking about the likes of E. Kane and others, WHL kids are usually more talented. :P
