Primal Optimist
I am kind of glad that some of the guys are traveling around the globe playing, as it brings the north american brand to new markets. I would LOVE to catch a hockey game in Berlin where Danny Briere is playing, haha Giroux too, but i am a fan of Briere specifically of the two. Primal Optimist
That is awesome, and I am happy you got to a game! now check this news item out fresh this morning on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation news website: http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/story/2012/11/04/sp-nhl-nhlpa-bill-daly-steve-fehr.html The conversation is flowing again between the NHL and NHL Players' Association. A marathon meeting between deputy commissioner Bill Daly and NHLPA special counsel Steve Fehr stretched from Saturday afternoon into the early hours of Sunday morning, and was followed by some encouraging news: The sides expect to return to the bargaining table on Tuesday in New York. "We met on and off for most of the day and covered a lot of ground," Daly told The Canadian Press via e-mail. "We plan to meet again early in the week." Daly and Fehr got together at an undisclosed location in an effort to shield themselves from the media spotlight and start finding a way forward in negotiations. The session included "good, frank discussion on the most important issues separating us," according to Daly. It represented a significant departure in protocol from the last few months, when the parties rarely sat down together for more than an hour or two at a time. The meeting was also unique because it included just the No. 2 men from the league and union, perhaps offering a harbinger of better times ahead (Daly and former NHLPA deputy Ted Saskin laid the groundwork for the deal that ended the 2004-05 lockout). There was certainly a positive feeling in the air afterwards, with Fehr saying in a statement that he agreed with how Daly summed up the session. "Hopefully we can continue the dialogue, expand the group, and make steady progress," added Fehr.

Strombone1
what's this guy's problem? why is he getting injured so much?! Islanders' Rick DiPietro hurt ... again http://www.torontosun.com/2012/11/05/nhl-notes-islanders-rick-dipietro-hurt--again New York Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro is hurt again. Yeah, shocking isn't it? He can't even play in Germany without getting banged up. DiPietro, who has a well documented history of injury woes during his NHL career, has another groin issue and hasn't played for SC Riessersee since Thursday, according to a report on German website merkur-online.de. The report doesn't say how serious DiPietro's injury is, but given his recent history -- he missed 58 games last season due to a groin problem, sports hernia and knee swelling -- it must be a concern to the Islanders. DiPietro is under contract to the Islanders until 2020-21. Riessersee also announced the signing of former Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Adam Henrich. The 28-year-old from Thornhill, Ont., had been playing with Alleghe HC of the top Italian league.
