With the draft complete, this is our likely roster going into free agency. The bottom 6 is quite fluid, with Brown and Johnson being the only players we can say quite confidently that will be on our opening day rosters. Players in italics are unsigned. Going into free agency, we will be looking to add depth in goal with the recent trades of Jack Campbell and Robert Mayer. We will also be looking for a top-6 forward, a 3rd line player, and address our gaping hole on defense right now, where we will need at least 2-3 more defensemen.

Tampa Bay Lighting

Matt Moulson - John Tavares - ____________

Patrick Marleau - Mike Fisher - Alex Steen

Drayson Bowman - Mikhail Grigorenko- Repik

Nick Johnson - Gilbert Brule - Mike Brown

____________ - Andrew Desjardins - Aaron Palushaj

Matt Carle - Andrej Meszaros

Roman Josi - ___________

________ - Brian Lee

Calvin De Haan

Carey Price

Jeremy Smith

New Orleans Storm

Pontus Aberg - Riley Nash - Tomas Jurco

Brett Sonne - Freddie Hamilton - Sebastian Collberg

__________ - Matia Marcantuoni - Brandon Kozun

Nick Petrecki - Taylor Doherty

Jordan Schmaltz - Sena Acolatse

_________ - Max Iafrate

Alex Stalock

Again for all GM´s who could need an solid Defender:

Chris Phillips could be on the Market if he waives his NMC afte July 1st.

Further we are wondering about the future of Tom Poti and Rostislav Olesz.

If Poti returns he will be available on the Market...if he retires it would be also good for us.

A total ??? is former 1st Round Pick Rostislav Olesz...i´m really curios what will happen to him ..specially untill the 2nd buyout Window. Healthy he could be a solid 30-40 Points Player but in real life the Hawks had no need for him last Season.

I´m sure there are some Teams that could use him....we hope to know moe in the next weeks.

If things change to a positve direction for Olesz..he will be also available..if not..we´ll buy him out.

Wow, last night was a whirl wind that I was not expecting, and great fun! We made a few trades, grabbed some great kids, and added some depth to our team for October as well.

Coming into the fold in New York are veteran defenders Sheldon Souray, Douglas Murray and Pavel Kubina, while TJ Galiardi will look to get his young career on back on track joining our forward group.

In addition to improving the current teams depth the Rangers were very happy to select Ville Pokka 37th overall, Scott Kosmachuck at 45th, Mikko Vainonen 59th and Joonas Korpisalo at 62nd. Finally with our last pick, 72nd overall we took Patrick Sieloff. Mike Winther was selected 50th, and involved in an almost instantaneous trade to improve our team for this year, we know Mike is a fantastic young player, and we wish him all the best.

In the end, we added four depth NHL players, some with amazing upside, and we managed to come out of the draft with Five stellar young men. From Net, to the blueline and even up front, we covered out bases at this, our first draft ever.

David Liffiton, playing on our minor league affiliate last year, was traded with our 2013 2nd round pick to secure Pavel Kubina, and two 3rd round picks which became Patrick Sieloff and TJ Galiardi. David will be missed, and we wish him the best future in professional hockey.

EDIT: Updated Depth Chart coming shortly.....

Great job done by our GM's last night! A big thanks to Curt for putting it all together and all the work he does for us everyday to keep our game going.

The Buffalo Sabres are very pleased with how things turned out last night. Prior to the draft we made a substantial trade with the Ottawa Senators, sending Alex Burrows, Lauri Korpikoski, Ryan Jones and the NJ 2012 3rd round pick in exchange for the #4 and # 24 overall selections.

Those picks, along with the #2 overall were used to land 3 great prospects in Alex Galchenyuk, Filip Forsberg and Matt Finn.

Our cupboards are now re-stocked with phenomenal young talent and we are now aiming full steam ahead at July 1 and the rest of the offseason!
