Assign: The Quebec Nordiques assign F Jordan Schroeder

Recall: The Quebec Nordiques recall F Andy Miele.

With Jordan having 3 days between games, we wanted to see what Andy brings to the table; but Jordan will be back up shortly.... (sorry in advance Curt ;) )

MSG NEWS 2013:

The Rangers GM is openly talking about bringing in a middle six winger. "With Andrei Kostitsyn still over in the KHL and by all accounts happy to stay there for the rest of this season, it leaves our team with a pretty big hole to fill. We won't try to force a guy to play here if he doesn't want to play in North America, but for now we will keep his rights, that is how much we respect Andrei's ability to play our game. Should he decide at some future point to return, we certainly don't want him lacing up against us. That leaves me in the position though, where I need to look at bringing in talent to the middle six, now that we are faced with Matt Lombardi on LTIR for a long time." Expect Primal Optimist to start to be working the phones sooner rather than later in this lockout shortened season.

The Tennessean News

Nashville Predators Headlines Heading Into February:

1) Marty Brodeur Proves He Can Still Play

Martin Brodeur has proved he has some gas left in the tank as he leads all Predators players with 50 pool points heading into Saturdays action.

2) To Rebuild or Contend?

Near the bottom of the league, but not out of it in the Western Conference, should the Predators rebuild? They've got some good assets such as Corey Perry and Ryan Whitney to move for things to help them next year...

3) Missing Players!

Part of the Predators problem so far has been the absence of key centermen Jason Arnott, Daymond Langkow and Tim Connolly. Jason and Daymond are pending UFA's and it looks like they may not choose to sign and Tim is stuck in the AHL.

4) Need for Centers?

With great defensive depth and so-so center depth, could the Predators be looking to move a defencemen such as Dion Phaneuf for a top 6 center?
