I find myself really hoping the Oilers sneak into the playoffs... for two reasons.

1. I'm getting reaaaaally sick of them drafting 1st overall. Give them a not so blatantly obvious pick in the 16-20 range and let's see how they manage.

2. If they make it, odds are the Blues don't. And it would be just hilarious to have Jay Bouwmeester miss the playoffs. Again.

Best case scenario for me is the Oilers end up 9th, just outside the playoff bar, with Columbus making the playoffs and the Blues still missing.

Blues News

The Deadline is over and the Blues made some changes , specially for the Future.

At first we want to thank Nathan Hoton , Jarome Iginla , Andy Greene , Justin Peters and Carson McMillan

for their efforts in the past Weeks , Month and Years. We wish them all the best for their Future with their

new Teams and good luck for the run for the Stanley Cup.

With Iggy and Nathan we have lost 2 important pieces of our Top 6 but with Chris Higgins

we got a good Guy back who could also help us in the Playoff Run.

Arron Asham is a solid Bottom 6 Player with a lot of experience who could be really

usefull if we make the Playoffs. Steve Mason gives us more depth on the Goalie Position

and if all things are going well, we´ll re-sign him in the Off Season.

With John Erskine we got a solid Defender who gives us more Strenght on the Blueline.

There will be a lot to do in the Summer. Weiss, Galiardi , McDonald , Bergenheim, Higgins,Asham

and Erskine are all on our list for a re-signing in the Off Season. We hope most of them

will stay for one or more Years. Further we got some Future Considerations who will join the Team

in the Summer and we hope the one or other will make the NHL in some Years.

With Eric Gelinas we got a talented D-Prospect.

We hope we can ice a solid Team for the 2013/14 Season and we are looking forward to the 2014

Draft where we currently have 7 Draftpicks.

But for now...we are just hoping for a Miracle and that we´ll finally make the Playoffs...its not over yet.

If the Blues miss I'd be in huuuuuuuge trouble, I don't think they will and I still think they could make the cup finals, but with this shortened season who the hell knows?

I still think the Blues make it. But I still think it'd be funny if they miss and J-Bo is watching again.

And I'm definitely rooting for Columbus to make it.

MONTREAL, QC - The Habs made two moves yesterday prior to the deadline, and unfortunately had an additional one voided due to it not making into league offices on time, but Montreal GM _arby_18 remains very happy with the changes made to his club.

The major deal involved moving out Michael Frolik, Casey Cizikas and Francis Bouillon in exchange for 22-year-old defender Dmitry Kulikov and the 2013 PIT 2nd round pick.

"We are ecstatic to bring in a young d-man like Dmitry," _arby_18 said during his press conference this morning. "At just 22 years of age he is just beginning to come into his own, and we see him being a huge part of our team going forward. Having Dmitry join a blue-line with Brent Burns and Erik Johnson as pillars, we feel that we have strengthened our back-end immensely."

"We would like to wish Michael, Casey and Francis well in Edmonton as they push for the playoffs. We had a hard time giving up these guys, especially Michael and Casey as they were young and under contract beyond this season, but we know you have to give to get and those were the players Edmonton wanted."

The second move was more minor in nature, but in the end the Habs GM was able to flip an asset that was a waiver-wire pickup just weeks earlier in Nik Khabibulin, who is a pending UFA, for another pending UFA in J.S. Giguere and a forward with term in Brad Richardson.

"After moving Michael and Casey earlier in the evening, we were after another forward and when this opportunity arose we couldn't turn it down," _arby_18 explained. "Brad is a guy that we've liked for many years, and he will be a really nice fit on our 4th line this year and next."

Though the Habs roster right now looks a little inexperienced, remember that Montreal has seven (!) players currently on the LTIR, and a few may return in the next week. However, these moves were made with the future in mind, and despite the frustrating season this year it looks like the future remains incredibly bright for this squad.

Hmm... two minors teams named the Rockets... only a 2 and a half hour drive from each other.... Alright, easy fix.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Winnipeg Jets have changed their minor league affiliate's name to the Revelstoke Grizzlies. A formal announcement will be made shortly.
