A few people have asked me this, I've answered the PMs now but will post it here for everyone's benefit.

Q: What is the cut-off time to have a player added to my roster and have his points count for that night?
A: The cut-off time is 12:00pm noon Pacific time. This helps keeps things simple when I have to update a few days at a time after being at work.

Thanks for the clarification Curt. I was going to ask too but know you are busy so I hate bugging you.....:)

The Montreal Canadiens are incredibly pleased to have come to terms with Mike Kostka. His solid play to start the year has us very excited to have him join our depleted blue-line, as the injury to Matt Greene and the uncertainty surrounding Brent Burns has left a large hole in our top-4. Mike will step right into our lineup on the 2nd d-pairing, and we expect great things with him going forward.

Updated Blueline

Erik Johnson - Mark Streit
Mike Kostka - Ryan O'Byrne
Francis Bouillon - Zach Redmond
Brent Burns (day-to-day)

IR: Matt Greene

I'm curious, would Petr Sykora fit in the Canucks roster? maybe replace Dale Weise? The guy had 44 points last season and is an UFA right now.

The Lightning are looking to address its forward depth issue and may move top-4 defensemen and/or prospects to acquire forwards and picks.

Though we eed some more production throughout the lineup. Hopefully we can pick it up and get back into 1st.

Minnesota has depth forwards and top end prospects that could be moved for a top 4 offensive dman.

Finally, I will see some goaltender points roll in after four league days as Mike Smith is set to face Steve Mason this evening, win lose or draw, the New York Rangers are going to see ten big points from one of our outstanding netminders. Heres to Overtime!!!

It could happen, the flames have not announced or hinted who is starting yet....neither goalie left the ice first, I hear from a source, which is a good indicator of who starts when its not said out loud. This blurb is an old one from before Kippers last start...If i was a betting man i would say the Flames shake it up with Irving.

Miikka Kiprusoff
Calgary Flames

Posted Image

Kiprusoff will be in goal for the Flames.
Kiprusoff allowed 4 goals on 29 shots in the Flames season opener, and the task doesn't get any easier tonight as he faces Anaheim who chased Cory Schneider from the net on Saturday, scoring 5 goals on 14 shots.

EDIT: The more I look around at this the more I think Irving gets the nod. If they go with kipper and the team loses its third in a row with kipper in net, what do they do then? If they at least start the backup they are resting Miikka and changing it up a bit...Karllson was already traded a couple days ago so its Kipper or bust it would appear...but kipper seems busted...i don't want to put words in Mike GIllis mouth but didn't he say he has a solid offer from a team 'NOT WHO WE THINK' only they have to do something with a player first??? I am just dreaming out loud here....there is a guy plays for Calgary I would like to see in a Canucks Jersey though.

heh, I bet the bad contract bomb in another offer MG mentioned is Horcoff. Never liked him and I am amazed he got 5m for so long to be so blah in Edmonton. No offense to whoever owns him in the league here, but 5m a year for three more years for 34 year old Horcoff who has not scored 20 goals since 2008..and even then that was his second year of hitting that plateau...lol....if we take him on as part of a deal with edmonton I bet he is bought out in the offseason.

@adater
Steve Downie torn ACL, out for season. Brad Malone called up

Man, Downie just can't catch a break. Selfishly, I'm hoping that this injury pressures the Avs to actually get Ryan O'Reilly re-signed, but I do feel bad for Downie and whomever owns him in the CDCGML.

I don`t know if you`ve thought of this but I remember back when I was out of Anaheim I believe it was a top-3 team and so you let some of the bottom teams draft out one of the players before the new GM took over (Brunners I believe)

Pittsburgh is an extremely stacked roster so maybe the same thing could be done? Just an idea.

What is your argument? I took over a pile of crap in Florida. (FYI Florida finished 28th the season before I took over)

It's nothing to do with the people have built their teams I'm talking about a new GM stepping into an organization, this happened with Brunners when he took over Anaheim.

It was an idea, Jesus Christ god forbid we try and make the west a bit better, take a look at the conferences champ, the east is 10x better its blatantly obvious.
