this from bluffmagazine.com 's Lance Bradley who is covering the worls series of poker

Roberto Luongo Doubles Up; Almost Confirms He’s Been Traded to the Florida Panthers
Vancouver Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo came in to Day 4 with just 1/3 of an average stack but a double-up early in the level has him back in the game. Luongo moved all-in from middle position after the player to his right raised to 11,000. Luongo’s opponent called the additional 70,000 and turned over 7Posted Image 7Posted Image. Luongo was racing with APosted Image QPosted Image. The QPosted Image TPosted Image 5Posted Image flop brought instant relief for Luongo and the 2Posted Image turn and QPosted Image river were safe cards for the Olympic gold medal winner. After the hand Luongo was sitting on a stack of 173,000.
Hockey fans in Vancouver have been eating up the coverage of their star goalie, Roberto Luongo, as he plays in his first WSOP Main Event. He might not be their goalie for much longer though, if you read between the lines of a conversation Luongo had with another player at his table, Kamran Siddiqui.
“You played for my hometown team,” said Siddiqui, who is from Miami.
“Who’s that?” asked Luongo.
“The Florida Panthers,” answered Siddiqui.
“Oh yeah, I might be going back there,” said Luongo, while smiling.
“Yeah?” asked Siddiqui.
“Might be,” replied Luongo.
Shortly after the bubble burst Luongo was eliminated. He finished 634th for $19,227.

What is all in for the Leafs though?? they dont really have much that we'd be intrested in unless they give us Kessell or Grabovski.

Gardiner I would've liked if he had landed Schultz, but other than that, they dont have anything we need.

I wouldnt trade Luongo for Colbourne or Kadri or any other prospect the leafs have, Florida has got all the goods.

Is it just me or is Luongo screwing Gillis' bargaining stance here?

TML isn't completely useless lol any combination of Franson, Gardiner, Colborne, Grabovski, Lupul, picks, even Kadri could be a great return, although I do agree that FLA would have better returns, it's a matter of negotiating those returns, and if FLA isn't willing than we have to deal with the leafs and drive that price as high as we can, and Lu saying the FLA reference can't hurt that at all

Wasnt there a Franson and Grabovski sighting at YVR? I would that that package if we cant get any of the top 3 prospects of Florida.

He said "might". Nothing to see here....
Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

Really, Luongo might get traded - to the only team he's willing to be traded to???

Surely you jest?
Posted 08 October 2008 - 07:41 PM by BloodyCanuckleheads

I could definitely see Grabner going. He seems to have done his best to play his way out the door (and Gillis seems to be the smartest GM we've ever had, so, put two and two together)...

5.3 is a pretty small cap hit. Term shouldn't be a concern as he's like to retire before the end of his contract, per his own words in the last interview.

What other factors..

The market and the current demand for Luongo, also even tho I believe his contract is great the perception of it isn't.

If only there was a master thread, an "official" thread if you will, to put all these Roberto Luongo thread topics...

WIshful thinking...
