So tell me. What's the difference between Scnheider "being vocal" about wanting the 1G position, essentially going above Luongo's head and Hodgson "being vocal" about wanting Kesler's spot while Kesler was injured?
Hodgson was shipped out and Schneider gets the job?
Something is not working in all of this. Something smells really bad.
“Having both goalies back in Vancouver next year is definitely a possibility and probably the leading possibility,” Mike Liut, Cory Schnieder’s agent, told The Vancouver Province.
Schneider never "went above Luongo's head" nor was he "being vocal" at all - those are distortions - he was being a great team player, in fact, both he and his agent were being extremely reasonable and patient. In case you aren't paying attention, which seems like quite a possibility, his agent said all the right things, he signed a contract before July 1st, despite Luongo not being traded, and pre-empted any offer sheets that could have resulted in insane offers and a whole lot more term and salary for him. He came to a compromise that really should be appreciated.
Hodgson's agent is a massive pain in the ass, Hodgson's camp started an ice-time controversy in December, mere months into his NHL career, they never relented, his agent was comparing him to Stamkos, he would have been impossible to negotiate a reasonable contract with, and Hodgson was nowhere near as good as he, his agent, or his fanboys thought. The irony is that Hodgson benefitted greatly from the way AV deployed him - two way linemates to shelter his weaknesses, powerplay time against weaker second pk units, tailored minutes to make him successful, and regardless Hart and Selke winners to learn from - instead he arrogantly tried to prematurely poach their minutes. Unbelievable really.
Couldn't be a bigger difference between the two players.
