^How? I support the Canucks always. Unless they have a falling out with the organization or chase money elsewhere, I cheer for Canucks that are on other teams.

Here is something interesting.

I think Kulemin would be a great fit on our 3rd line.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

   ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Looks like the possibility of a Luongo trade to Tor has just got a bit colder ...

Gillis is going to look really desperate once he signs Schneider and he has 2 starting goalies under contract.

Canucks didn't want Schenn and for good reasons - changes nothing.

Imagine if MG took Schenn for Luongo then flipped him to Philly for JVR, this CDC board would worship the ground that he walks on.

@NHLSourcesSay

Oilers and Canucks talking trade, the main component of the deal is Gagner for Luongo, watch this one closely in the next few days.

Trading within Lu within the division? Yeah right.

Doesn't sound like Burke is offering anything good.
Sorry Brian, if your secondary players are not good enough for the Leafs they definately won't make the Canucks.
JVR woud be sweet, bad trade for Holmgren.

I think it's safe to say Burke is upset with MG's price for Lu, trades away a key piece to a possible deal, and screws the Leafs and us over. How the Leafs? No Lu = no playoffs. How us? Have both goalies in an uncertain situation. Burke could care less, he knows he'a gonna get fired.

Can 90% think TO is off the Lu list - time to talk with Florida.

@HockeyBreak

Slowly but surely the Vancouver Canucks are making progress on a Roberto Luongo trade. Trade discussions are developing.

Didn't GMMG say that he isn't scared of trading within the division if the trade makes the Canucks a better team?

Eeew Sam Gagner coming back the other way? No way I'd want that. Plus I think Edmonton has something good in Dubnyk. Not sure they'd want Luongo.

I don't recall but I'd think that if he traded Samuelsson, Hodgson, and Grabner as far away from Vancouver and the Western Conference as possible there's no way he'll keep Luongo in our own division.

Pretty sure Gillis said he didn't mind trading within the division if it meant getting a player he wanted

Edit: ^^ Beat me to it

Could you imagine Edmonton with all their scoring and a solid goalie ... oh my. They instantly make the playoffs ... no matter who they put behind the bench. I didn't think Lui would want to go to Edmonton though.

Gagner? Really? We really don't need an undersized forward, esp of we keep Raymond and maybe have Schroeder here next year. The team seems unsure of its identity right now, are we big and tough? Or small speedy and skilled? I think a decision to go bigger and tougher was made with the kassian and booth trades and we need to stay the course (hence why I would've loved Schenn)

I don't think Luongo will waive NTC for Winnipeg ... just a hunch.

How do you figure he has a choice? He isn't a UFA (and won't be for a long time).

Well I was 100% correct about Schenn being moved but 100% wrong about where he was going.

There is no way we would allow Lu and Komo straight up. No way!

lol, i don't buy that edmonton/lu rumour, but if true, the oilers would beat the living daylights out of our team. A pissed off Luongo + that high end offense would be a nightmare to play against. I really doubt Luongo would move to edmonton. I see him moving out east to be closer to his family.

Well in regards to the last 3 Stanley cup champions, all of whom we lost to, they were all big and tough and grinded teams down. Sure Chicago had some under sized forwards in Kane and toews but those guys are elite, whereas our undersized guys like Raymond, and the possibility of acquiring gagner, would be no where close to small elite guys.

Yea. Had some mixed emotions as of late, feel like Burke burned MG, but he never. TO still needs Lu for a playoff birth, Kane can very well become part of Lu discussion if Pavelec goes to the KHL, and if nothing happens, we still have the best goaltending duo in NHL history :)

Sorry Brian, if your secondary players are not good enough for the Leafs they definately won't make the Canucks.
JVR woud be sweet, bad trade for Holmgren.

Not a bad trade at all for Holmgren!! The Flyers have the best group of young forwards in the league. Giroux, Schenn, Couturier, Voracek, Simmonds, Read, and even Scott Laughton now. Van Riemsdyk is valuable, but expendable with all the other pieces the flyers have.

On the other hand, Chris Pronger could be completely done in the nhl, Matt Carle is a ufa, Timonen is 37 years old. They needed Luke Schenn more than Van Riemsdyk, and on the plus side Schenn + Schenn is pretty cool. Put some more thought into it before just having a knee jerk reaction!

No way WPG trades Evander Kane. Unless he truly has asked for a trade or hasn't negotiated a new contract, we don't stand a chance at E. Kane IMO.

Yea agreed no chance at all, a 33 yr old aging goaltender with a huge contract for a 20 year old 30 goal scoring power forward? not going to happen, and even if E Kane was on the market, he'd probably fetch much more than Lu from the other 29 teams, and even if by some stroke of luck the trade could happen, no way Lu waives to go to WPG
