Gaunce picked up a goal tonight and a +1 against the otters.

The goal was a shorthanded empty netter. Apparently it was all effort by Gaunce to get it.

Just wanted to say that Gaunce has 24 goals in 46 games so far, and last season he had 28 goals in 68 games. So he has almost eclipsed his goal total from last year in 20 less games.

And:

Since injury: 35 games, 20 goals and 15 assists, 35 points.

Since the trades: 16 games, 11 goals and 9 assists, 20 points.

Looks like Gaunce is doing pretty good this year.

I'm getting tired of these MASSIVE landslides from the Bulls and Gaunce collecting 1 point. End of second 7-4 bulls... Gaunce 1 goal. Graovac 4 points.

Graovac isn't on Gaunces line though, it's Zharkov and another kid. We need to remember that Gaunce is playing the Kesler role for Belleville. He's being the shutdown #2C and moving the puck into the offensive zone and allowing Quine and Graovacs line to beast there. He gets PP time too and he's still scoring so Im satisfied.

Exactly what I was just thinking. The good news, though, is that it appears that Gaunce is the Bulls' go-to defensive guy. He'll take a bunch of defensive zone faceoffs and anchor the PK. I actually have faith in his offensive abilities, that they'll shine through in the pros. What I'm enjoying seeing is the growth of his defensive game. It gives me the feeling that he's at least a lock to be the team's 3rd line centre of the future, and a very, very good one at that.

I'd like to go on record that I think he can be better than a 3rd line centre in the pros. He has the basic offensive tools, like his shot, vision and ability to protect the puck with his size and make the play. Those kind of tools will allow you to create offense in the NHL, regardless of if you rip up juniors or not. That's what I believe anyway.

1st line center is a bit of a high ceiling for him, but 2nd line isn't out of reach. He certainly seems like he'll at least be a very good top 9 guy but does have a higher ceiling if he continues his development.

I love the fact that he's already got a defensive game dialed and is a good face off man this early. If av is still behind the bench when he comes up he should have a better chance of sticking early.

Gaunce picked up 2 assists - one of which on the PP - and 2 PIMS, and finished with an even rating, for Belleville in a 5-3 win over the Peterborough Petes today.

So if Gaunce has been taking on all the defense lately, what's Belleville's top line been? Some combination of Quine - Grovoac - Zharkov I'd presume?

I see this guy being similar to Mike Richards without the same offensive abilities.

OMG we could've had McKeown!

I think Virtanen was a terrible pick given that he's out for 6 months which will hinder his development. You don't pick someone at #6 under that circumstance, along with the fact that he was given a 3/5 IQ (aka he's dumb).

God dammit Benning. WHY VIRTANEN? Terrible move.

Down by the River - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

Gaunce with a goal and two assists in his teams 4-1 win tonight.

That's now 17 points (8G, 9A) he's scored in his last 12 games.

Lies. He's more of a Steve Bernier. Hopefully his talent level goes up so he can become like a Taylor Pyatt.

Good game for Gaunce. I'm glad he had 2 assists. It's great that he's scoring goals but I personally prefer to build a team around playmaking centres. Playmakers drive teams' offenses.

No points and an even rating for Gaunce today in a seemingly rare Belleville loss, 3-1 against the Kingston Frontenacs.

Gaunce and the Bulls seem to be slipping of late. They lost 3-1 to the dead last place team in the OHL - the Ottawa 67's - today and Gaunce went pointless with a -2 rating.

Belleville has lost 3 straight, but that's after they won 10 in a row.

And Gaunce still has put up 17 points in his last 15 games.

They're just in a mini slump right now.

Guance was really bad last night. He handed Monahan the puck on the PP goal. I'm not worried about the Bulls though. Strong team in a weak conference. I can't see them beating anyone in the West but I think they have a great shot at the OHL final.

Guance will be fine though. It's been an up and down year for him but he's played great at times.
