Totes McGoats
Finally, a good 2nd round pick from the Gillis camp. That's a first.

HockeyHobo73
The Hockey Writers were saying that he wouldn't be drafted in the first few rounds because he is an over-ager. But they compared him to Steve Downie and projected him as a third liner. http://thehockeywrit...exandre-mallet/ The good thing is that he is big and strong and should give the Wolves some help this season. rkyway
Alex Mallet is eligible for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and while he will not be drafted in the first few rounds because of his age (he will turn 20 in May), he has certainly garnered attention from NHL scouts and could be an interesting option in the middle rounds for teams looking for a player ready to make an immediate impact at the pro level (most likely the AHL). Phamda
10 pts less than Tanner Pearson in 8 more games. Not bad, I would have liked Severson or Adam Pelech though.

Wilbur
Since he's 20, I'm assuming that means he can go straight to the AHL next year?

Hedman
Considering he has been passed in the 2 previous drafts, i'm not sure if he's 2nd round pick material. He seems to have pretty good potential though.
mangosteens
Off the board pick for an "older" player. Canucks have not shyed away from taking older players but usually have waited until the 3rd round. Hopefully Mallet can keep improving as he made a big jump in his production last year. If he can skate at an NHL level, this guy could be a 4th liner pretty quickly given that he can stir it up. Is he more Downie or Duco?
rkyway
This looks like a very risky pick for second round. Can't see it panning out. He looks impressive only because of his age.
HockeyHobo73
I hope the Canucks know something everyone else didn't =) I was really looking forward to another BPA pick =( I'm not sure this pick was a good idea imo. At least we get to see what he's got as early as this season with the Wolves.
