TACIC
Im just thinking, the probable reason luu is not traded cause no wanted him.Could be a possibility because of his cap hit and playoff performances.

Guest Dasein
His playoff performances are fine and his cap hit is not the issue - it's the salary that pays him tonnes of cash over the next 6 years that some teams in the NHL (mostly US teams) with financial issues can't afford. mpt
if Luongo was a UFA this July 1, he would be getting the same if not more of a cap hit on a long term deal. His contract isn't an issue, its more about other teams not wanting to give up the asking price. Its hard to move elite players, same with Nash. Teams don't want to blow apart their teams to acquire 1 guy. I say the best scenario since both top players are having difficulties moving, we just swap them. Nash for Luongo and Booth

pimpcurtly
I think the biggest reason luu is not traded is because of all the luu threads.

CanucksFanMike
Reason why lui wasn't traded: - burkie hates the media in toronto and wants to be fired - figures if he starts Reimer next year the leafs wont make the playoffs - if the leafs dont make the playoffs burkie will get fired (he gets his wish) Solution: - in the trade we must add three body guards for burkie to protect him from the media JKJKJK lol

AndyBernard
Luongo has a no trade clause, so he doesn't get traded if he doesn't want to go to the team Gillis finds a deal with. Gillis is also asking for a lot in return... Gillis is insane if he thinks it is a real possibility we could end up with 5.3 million sitting on the bench half the time. Unless he finds a good deal at the trade deadline he needs to find Lu a new home this summer.
Guest BuckFoston
Possible reason that "Luu" is not traded is because maybe he was never going to be traded. I know, a thought so crazy it just blows the mind.
