RXnucks975 Posted June 24, 2012 Share Posted June 24, 2012 He won a Stanley Cup walking into Job that had Con-Smyth winning Goalie in Giguere and had a young Bryzgalov in the wings to push him...and then he brought him back to Toronto were he was like a fine glass of two week old milk, not horrible but obviously bad. With us he brought in Cloutier who just didn't have the mental game to take a team deep and proved that His Gustavsson signing wasn't the worst, but the team could have handled his transition from Sweden to the NHL a little better Other than that he just keeps going through what ever goalie is in the Leafs system and failing (Pogge Reimer etc) I must admit i do kinda miss Danny boy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He is a gm, a profession you will never have a chance of being. Sure he might be saying that he's comfortable moving forward with Reimer/Scrivens, but that is all mind games. We all know he needs Luongo. He's not gonna come out and say, "Hell yea we are getting Luongo". You guys need to understand that both GM's want the best for their team, and sometimes, it takes a while for two GM's to come to an equal offer. You should be happy he's holding out for the best possible return for this hockey club. If they can get between 1 and 15 then something may happen, but he will not over pay. Yet, in the Schenn trade he states in order to get a quality player you need to give up a quality player. Seriously WTF does he think Bobby Lu is, some chump that is only going to play 20 games for him or pretty much the only guy that can get his joke of a team anywhere close to making the play-offs? Burke should be happy Gillis is entertaining any Leaf coming back. My hope is Lu goes to Winnipeg and gets them into the play-offs and blowfish Burke gets canned next year. In Vancouver he had Hirsh, Weekes, Potvin, Schwab, Snow, Cloutier, Essensa, Auld,Skrudra, Hedberg Not a list of goalies that really stand out at being elite.
