T @benkuzma: Canucks confirm no RFA offers to Marc-Andre Gragnani, Mike Duco and Ryan Parent by today's 2pm Pacific deadline. All now UFAs

I think this is the wrong move by not qualifying Gragnani, he's got potential and was a key cog to the Hodgson trade

Gragnani was a fail. So was Parent.

Ebbett should of been qualified.

No Grags, huh?
Seems premature. He's young. Thought he could develop on the farm.

I thought Duco was pretty decent in the few games he played with us. Oh well. Gonna miss Ebbett though :( Especially those OT winners.

Hate to say but they are all expendable. Though Rome has been a reliable plug for the last 2 years.

The Cody trade is looking worse with each passing day.

Interesting. So Lebrun was right. Does anyone have a sound bite of MG saying that MAG was qualified last week? Just seems a bit strange if he came out and said it...must have been on bad information?

I'm also assuming that we can add Oreskovich to the list of players who were not qualified?

So each passing day with absolutely no hockey being played makes you know more about Kassian? ...who came from a deal for a player who didn't want to be here? What exactly is your role in the Canucks organization?

Never liked Gragnani.Duco Ididnt mind but I'm guessing a physical player or three will appear and play most of the games and the revolving door at energy forward will close.

Gragnani move here is a head scratcher.....He had shown he has some fine skills, just needs to develop his defensive game. I think Gragnani not returning is a mistake, then again it will be interesting to see who replaces him on the depthchart.

Time to clear the cupboards and restock the depth. None of these guys are big losses. People may raise their eyebrows at letting MAG go but he was a throw in. Kassian was the main piece of that deal. i would like to see Pinizzotto get another shot. He was lookin pretty good until his injury.

I have a feeling they might be doing this to entice Schultz

We're going to regret not qualifying MAG down the road. It's idiotic to give up on a guy who put up 60 points in 63 AHL games just a year ago. He still needs a lot of development but he was a very promising prospect. Oh well guess he'll become a great player on another team down the line and we can all whine about it for the next few years.

THIS. I hope he has a great camp. That 4th line was looking like a WRECKING BALL before everyone got injured.

Gragnani was a plug. Not sure why we moved Sulzer for him. Sulzer showed he was at least reliable depth. After watching Grags play I often wondered what he was doing. Coughed up the puck alot even in the offensive zone where he was supposed to be good, seemed out of sorts on the pp (would see him down low at the post often),not to mention his horrific defensive play.

He can skate thats about it. So who cares. Duco would have liked to have back for depth but I guess we must have plans for that in place, and would have liked to see Parent kept as depth as well but I guess this means they feel guys like Connaughton, Sauve/Corrado are ahead of him....

Not Kassian, but the fact that MAG is not good enough to be qualified is a bummer.

Hodgson was a good player on the ice regardless of how he felt off the ice.

Should have signed Gragnani, but maybe they are going to sign him to a new contract.

They should bring Gragnani back on a 2-way contract worth 625k.

So naive...

1. Kassian is a year behind Hodgson in development.
2. So, you don't compare him to Hodgson of this year, you compare him to Hodgson of last year.
3. Last year, Hodgson had 2 NHL points and was a middling AHL player (0.58ppg).
4. This year, Kassian had 10 NHL points and was a near-dominant player (0.87ppg) in the AHL.
5. Hodgson plays a position we have two trophy winners playing already.
6. Kassian plays a position we need.

I could definitely see Grabner going. He seems to have done his best to play his way out the door (and Gillis seems to be the smartest GM we've ever had, so, put two and two together)...

There's just going to be a new healthy scratch (depth player) to replace him at the start of the season.

Ebbett and Rome are both too old to be RFAs so they cannot be qualified... Parent was a bust, and Oreo was in Coach V's bad books.

Gragnani should have been qualified though cause we just aquired him and he has time to develop into a solid offensive defenceman.
