He could be a nice fit on the 2nd line.

Booth/Kesler/Doan

Higgins/Gaustad/Hansen

Wow. I thought he was going to retire a Coyote. If you want to win a cup Shane, come to Vancouver :D

I'd love to have him on the team, but he's declining and going to be overpaid. If we can get him for a reasonable price on a one year deal then maybe.

"Phoenix GM Don Maloney says Shane Doan will test free agent market. Potential teams will get good leader and officiating conspiracy buff

5:00pm - 26 Jun 12"

- random tweet

I say he will either re-sign with Phoenix or else go to Winnipeg.

But if he wants to win a cup before he calls it quits then maybe he will go to a team like Pittsburgh or potentially here.

There will probably be alot of teams interested though.

Id imagine at this point in his career he would be okay with signing a 1 year deal for a reasonable price for a shot at the cup

Yeah as much as I'd like to see him here in Winnipeg, I don't think that that's a possibility. He's not going to leave the only franchise he's ever been with in his final years to please fans in a city that he played one year for. He'll leave to win a cup, and the Jets aren't there yet.
