UFCanuck
Not sure what you're trying to say here Both still signed
gmen81
Not by himself, of course not. But for a PP that was brutal to watch last year, this is a good acquisition.
Baercheese
They could have gone the trade route, Wideman is overrated.
GoaltenderInterference
Hmm, I see. Is it possible for me to edit the title?
Baercheese
So they sign a guy to this contract to help improve a PP? Why don't they just promote within. I thought Brodie might be able to step ion a bigger role this year. If the Flames can trade Bouwmeester, then maybe it doesn't look so bad, but for now having this much $$ locked up on your D is just bad.
TheCammer
With the cap going up pretty much every year, you cant compare this year's signing to previous years 5.25M accounts for about 7% of the 70.2M, which would be around 4.7 in last year's cap For a player that's arguably the 2nd best option on D in this year's FA, someone would've paid him the same amount of money. Dogbyte
Wow, looks like they're riding Iginla for a couple years before they rebuild. What a dumb lot.
Mighty Walrus
Idiotic deals like this is going to make it difficult for the Canucks to make a reasonable deal for garrison.
DeltaSwede
Too much money on a player that is too inconsistent. Flames should be re-building. I'd hate to be a Flames fan. 6.68 mil for J-Bo and 5.2 for Wideman. They both can't play D.
rotiman187
This is the year flames management realizes they need to rebuild. I can see the oilers ahead of them in the division this year.

Hedman
I think the trade is pretty good for Calgary, but the signing could've been better. Wideman's +/- numbers are not that impressive. Amongst the worst in the regular season on Capitals and he and Schultz had the worst +/- numbers in the playoffs on the Capitals.
Langdon Algur
So does this mean JBo is on his way out. If not that's alot of money tied up in just 2 Dmen.
goalie13
Edit: not sure what the deal is with the gray highlighting but I can't get rid of it. If it bothers anyone, tips for removal would be helpful.
Baercheese
more of a head scratcher calgary doesnt know where it fits in the league are they just going to go after UFA's until iggy and kipper retire and be completely screwed i dont get this move at all

73 Percent
doesn't this contract seem abnormally large? don't get me wrong... I like wideman but this is huge for him. is the cap hit 5.5 too?
cIutch
Coming from someone that thought the Canucks dont need Burrows, your opinion is not valid

250Integra
Of course Flames fans would like this trade & sign.. They're fine with mediocrity and just missing the playoffs year after year.
