Botchford repeatedly says how Luongo told him that strombone1 is his account. Botch is pretty adamant about it too.

also TSNBobMckenzie and DarrenDreger both believe Strombone1 is Lou

“Since the beginning of recorded history, which is defined by the invention of writing by the Sumerians around 6,000 years ago, historians have cataloged over 3700 supernatural beings, of which 2870 can be considered deities.

So next time someone tells me they believe in God, I’ll say “Oh which one? Zeus? Hades? Jupiter? Mars? Odin? Thor? Krishna? Vishnu? Ra?…” If they say “Just God. I only believe in the one God,”

I’ll point out that they are nearly as atheistic as me.I don’t believe in 2,870 gods, and they don’t believe in 2,869.”

This all but spells the end of Luongo's tenure in Vancouver. It was fun while it lasted.

Although I'm a bit concerned about the term for this contract. 3 years?

I give it 2 or 3 years before the people that turned on Luo, turn on Schneids.

He will be quickly forgotten next year, once Schneider takes the team to the Stanley Cup

That is WAY too much to pay a goalie who has never even played a half-season in this league. Its quite ridiculous, if you ask me. Luongo is clearly the better and proven goaltender, if he goes, it will be the biggest mistake in Canucks history since the lopsided Cam Neely trade ages ago!

I would hope the people in this town would learn their lesson with the Luongo situation to not build these players up too much.

Signing Schneider does not mean we`re guaranteed anything. He`s one piece of a big puzzle. He`s a great piece to it, but we won`t fail or succeed all because of him. It`s a team game.

Gillis still has alot of work to do.

If we trade Lu, we are only going to save 1.3m in cap space. So trading Schnieder is still not out of the question.

Schnieder's trade value just went up even more now that he is signed, and will get more return no doubt now.

Trade who gets you a bigger and better deal.

Schneider is not going. He is staying. There's a reason why MG told the fans that they'll like the terms

To suggest that is really insulting to Schneider.

He obviously forfeited the NTC in order to either get a higher salary or less term, whichever he wanted.

The possibility is still there to trade him if someone offers him a deal he can`t refuse, but I think it`s clear who he has chosen as the number 1.

I would love to see the reaction of alot of people on here if he turned around and traded Schneider though. CDC would explode.

Ha Ha. Dream on. Probably makes it a little easier to trade him. It doesn't make much sense to me for him to sign. Something must be in the works. One of the goalies has to go. Makes it a lot easier to trade him now I think.

Firstly, definitely not. I'm not even going to explain why because it's clear you have no idea what you're talking about.

Second, I'm so excited about this. 3 years for 12m is an absolute steal if he keeps his current play up.

Wonder if GMMG has a trade with Lou right around the corner now?

If I am Mike Gillis, I'd be booking Cory's flight ticket to Columbus and sucking back up to Lu on another conference hot-line

Schneider hasn't been given the opportunity to show what he's capable of, but everything we've seen so far suggets that Schneider is a marvelous goalie

At the same time, Luongo choked in magnificent fashion, numerous times. How can you NOT see that?

Luongo had his chance, he messed it up. It's unfortunate for him, and fortunate for us, that Schneider was able to develop as he did.

Exactly.

Lu + Nash or Schneider and Matthias

I think it`s pretty obvious which combo makes us better right now, no matter how much people on here love Schneider.
