Hugemanskost
"Fair Warning" is sweet, too. "So This Is Love?" is my fave off of that album. Zep is at the top of my list, too! "In Through The Out Door" almost made it into the '80's. If it did, "I'm Gonna Crawl" would be near the top of my '80's Rock song list! My fave Zep song... "Since I've Been Loving You" from III. Buggernut
80's ruled. Back then, music had meaning - was an art...so many good albums, differnet genres all producing great music that can be listened to over and over again.
Heretic
What's more, we actually had new music to look forward to every week. Do kids today have that luxury, or do they yawn at the same old autotuned, rap infused tracks with the same beats over and over again?
TimberWolf
Every era had crap and classics. Even this current one. Though I challenge anyone that condemns the 80's entirely to present what "good music" is. I have tons of 80's favourites, Listing them all would take a long time. Teen Icarus
Where to start? Anything from Appetite for Destruction - If I had to pick one it would be Welcome to the Jungle just because it has everything in it. Back in Black Run to the Hills Crazy Train Bohemian Rhapsody and so on...It would take me an hour to list them all.

I don't have a favourite song as there are too many to choose from. Here are some pretty good lists: http://rateyourmusic...ums_of_the_80s/ http://www.digitaldr..._albums80s.html Here's the top selling: http://www.amazon.co...w/385I1ATRSODTZ
GLASSJAW
What's more, we actually had new music to look forward to every week. Do kids today have that luxury, or do they yawn at the same old autotuned, rap infused tracks with the same beats over and over again? I'm surprised AC/DC is so high on that list. Angus Young's guitar playing is pure brilliance, but the vocals are like listening to nails on a chalkboard.
Heretic
Are you suggesting that music no longer has meaning? Is music no longer art? Anyone else find it ridiculous for people to discuss the "art and depth" of the 80's in the midst of Poison, Motley Crue, AC/DC videos? These bands are as shallow as they come. Poison and Motley Crue were the auto-tune of their day. Thanks for posting those links though. Hopefully when you guys get over your glory days, you'll take note of the highly rated Replacements, REM, and The Smiths records and discover something that actually stands the test of time, no irony or nostalgia required. InTo ThE WiLD
I could name a few like AC/DC , Aerosmith , Rolling Stones , Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top and many others But my Man died on september 18, 1970 and to me he was the best ever

GLASSJAW
No - I just said you can't compare today to the "glory" days of the 80's...most music today is about money - not art. Yes, there is still good music today - but there's a lot more crap as well... Name me one album (CD) in the last 15 years where every song on it was worth listening to? The 70's & 80's had many great albums/artists. Oh - please don't compare Poison to AC/DC.... Aerosmith, Boston, Eagles, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Rolling Stones, Supertramp, The Who....etc... Here's a whole wack of them: http://www.digitaldr...artists70s.html http://www.digitaldr...tists80pop.html
Buggernut
Jesus, your opinions on music are either complete trolls, or absolutely ridiculous. Top selling 80s records are LOADED with 80s technological equivalents to modern beat/electronic based music. Dirty Dancing Soundtrack, Lionel Richie, REO Speedwagon, Madonna, New Kids on the Block, Def Leppard were among the best selling music of the 80s (according to the link provided above). Is this the great, pure music we're missing today? These are the weekly releases that we're missing?
