Tomorrow better look like this:

Sign Garisson 4m/3 years =12 m

Trade Luongo: Bjugstad, Upshall, 2nd

Sign Peter Mueller: 2 years, 2.85 per

or:

Sign 1 of Parise/Weber/Suter

Then all will be okay Until these things happen, this team will always be just plain old decent.

Um....How to they sign Weber?

AV was their mistake.

The key difference is that Sopel can fill in for Seabrook and Campbell just fine. Bieksa, he is garbage so in that sense he is like the worst defenseman in the league.

When Cody (Hodgson) gets older, he might be better than Datsyuk.

Let's not push this guy (Kassian). He's still immature, and if he fails on the 2nd line it's because he isn't ready. Some guys really need years to develop, it's how well and how fast players adapt to the game. In my opinion, I'd rather have Horvat getting 2nd line minutes. He will start off on the 3rd line next season but I see him making the transition, being a great compliment to whoever plays his wings.

At this point, I don't see Kassian fitting in to any role other than a 3rd. If players like Kassian start getting 2nd line minutes then we just stay inconsistent as a team.

The idiocy on CDC....

its funny to see that "guranteed" playing time was that big of a factor for this kid. Look at Nikita Filatov last year, Ottawa promised him a shot at a 2nd line role and after 9 games he was assigned to the AHL. It doesnt matter who you are you have to earn your keep in this league or you dont play simple as that.

What happens if Shultz play 3 season with Edmonton plays the way we expect him to then signs a life time contract with Vancouver. Everything is a possibility if given a chance; I still think there's a chance for the 5 teams to still sign him even if people from Toronto say no.

What indications do you have that he is too much of a diva?.. Just because he didn't sign with us doesn't mean anything.

He's got a great opportunity in edmonton to grow into a core of players his age. All those kids are going to be rockstars in that city over the next decade and I'm sure he's going to have alot of fun playing with them.

Signing with us he wouldnt have the supporting cast entering their prime all at once so I can understand his decision.

It's easy to say you would sign with your favorite team as fans but I've never played sports at the levels he has do I cannot judge him for the decision he makes. He's just a guy coming from the same roots as us and I wish him all the best.

I will however cheer against him with Canuck pride once the puck drops just as I do against iginla and Smyth.

He could have simply released a statement saying who he was going to play with, instead of letting this play out. Most hockey analysts said he decided last night. He eliminated 3 teams, and now with 2 teams left, he is sitting on his decision again.

It really is pointless trying to be a voice of reason around here.

Just throw your hands in the air and run in circles while screaming about next year.

NEXT YEAR MAN. NEXT YEAR.

Patrick McNally had a better rookie season than Schultz and could prove to be better in one or two years. Until then here is hoping we get Garrison or Suter.

Could be a blessing.

Garrison will be goiung FA route. He has been very clear that he would love to play in Vancouver and that it isn't all about finances but it has to be the "right fit".
Expectations are he will be offered $5M +/-. IF the Nucks woo him, he might give them a hometown discount. Let's say $4.25-$4.5M. Schultz had the potential to make $3.875M.

Garrison is bigger, stronger, meaner and has offensive upside. He's ready NOW for a top 4 role and could play alongside Edler and likely do PP time as well.

MG has made room dropping Grags and Rome and with Salo coming in at <$2M, Garrison should be a definite target. MG may have already been leaning this eay which is why he was not willing to assure the Schultz kid of anything but a fair chance to earnhis spot.

Love how everyone is saying we're going to get Suter instead  Good laugh nonetheless.

Schultz not playing for Vancouver is tremendous for him. AV would have screwed with his confidence BIG TIME. Glad he's not in Vancouver.

The kid is going to get booed in every building he plays in

Wayyyy too much of a diva for someone who hasn't played a single NHL game yet.

Not a big loss for us to not get him IMO

To be fair, it was the Media and fans who built up all the drama, he was just trying to decide, much like Richards did last year, there's just many more teams who are interested and able to get him, so the drama is more built up. that's why it seems like it.

James Duthie summed it up perfectly:

james duthie@tsnjamesduthie
Too many negative tweets on Schultz. He has handled this like any highly sought after UFA would. We (Twitter, media) created the drama.

And I think it's a pretty big loss, scouts say that is already better than Jake Gardiner, he's really a dynamic offensive player, his offensive style reminds me of Drew Doughty.

Just my opinion's though, your is respected.

I'll be more pissed next year if Weber hits UFA and Gillis doesn't get him, Schultz would've been awesome to have here and we need a player like him but whatever, life goes on, we'll be in the playoffs and if he goes to Edmonton well the Oilers can parade him around the draft floor.

Meanwhile at Gary Robert's secret training camp word has leaked out that Chris Tanev's slapper is now being clocked at 96 mph and accelerating!

I hope where ever Schultz goes that things work out for him. I thought Van was a good fit for him. If the problem was ice time then I can agree with the Canucks not BSing by saying what he wanted to hear. Signing Schultz as the 2nd right side dman would have been a gamble for a serious CUP contender. If he had signed I still thought a Bryan Allen made sense. What will really hurt is if this kid's projections are accurate and he becomes a Norris quality dman. I guess they can pitch him again in 2 years.
