Eberle is the future captain and RNH is the #1 center. There is no way one of them will be one of the odd men out.

Yeah not so great, but what impresed the hell out of me was what took place just before that. The kid can really generate some speed without even lifting his skates off the ice.

OMG we could've had McKeown!

I think Virtanen was a terrible pick given that he's out for 6 months which will hinder his development. You don't pick someone at #6 under that circumstance, along with the fact that he was given a 3/5 IQ (aka he's dumb).

God dammit Benning. WHY VIRTANEN? Terrible move.

Down by the River - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

These young Oilers stars will look great in Rangers, Red Wings and Penguins jerseys in 3-4 years.

In 3-4 years they will still be RFAs, so I'm not sure what you're insinuating.

Nail will be competing at the 2012 Canada-Russia Super Series, beginning on Thursday. You can see it live at 8 AM PST on TSN2.

I think many here were hoping Shirokov would be Yakupov. They both are the same height, but Sergei lacks top-end speed and doesn't have quite as lethal a wristshot. Nail conforms to the Pavel Bure mold more precisely than Shirokov does.

The difference is Nail is the currently the highest-ranked eighteen-year-old in the world. It will be fun to see what he does on Thursday.

"Yakupov dangling the puck in front of the net, SMASH what a hit by Kassian. I don't think he will be getting up for a week after that one!"

Hehehehe. What?

I would rather not wish ill on a kid who has been touted as an NHL star. If anything, I would want to be entertained by his skill. Paul Kariya's departure from the game was unfortunate, as was Lindros', Neely's, and Bure's. Among the players I would condone smashing are Sean Avery, Tim Thomas, Brad Marchand, and Dave Bolland. The NHL would not miss any of those four, and perhaps they deserve some of the punishment they would be receiving.

I want to see Yakupov play a healthy twenty years in this league and provide some excitement throughout his career. I'd rather not see him be knocked on to the ice by a player like Kassian; there's always some risk of an injury after a big hit.

My dad is an Oilers fan. I don't know if I'll be able to take it in a couple of years. <_<
