VaNux
He didn't say we won't make any signings today. He said the focus is on the trade front and today would not be very active.

Smashian Kassian
Not a surprise, I don't expect any significant signings today, we will watch a bunch of pieces we need go by since Gillis won't sign anyone unless they take a discount.

Danimal
He said he expects them to be quiet and to not make a splash. I'm sure there will be minor league signings but it sounds like not roster players will be signed today, so we shouldn't get our hopes up. I would love for Farhan to be wrong. Blackberries
so every team gets better and we just spin our tires in the mud.

The Brahma Bull
So when are we getting rid of Luongo then?
WestCoastCanucks
He didn't really say that at all. He said there was a lot of needs but the Luongo trade is front and center right now. He said that Gillis said that the Canucks wouldn't be crazy active in FA but that was before Schultz signed in Edmonton. He also said they were interested in Garrison. He also said that Gillis plans to spend all of the cap space available(10M).

Mookie Wilson
I think his focus is on Weber. Whether Weber is traded (or leaves Nashville via offer sheet) this summer is likely to a large extent dependent on whether Suter signs elsewhere. So we must wait for the Suter domino to fall. -Vintage Canuck-
He also said Canucks are still trying to make a hockey trade for Luongo - not just a salary dump.
Smashian Kassian
The Canucks wont get Garrison because they wont want to pay what he wants.
