yogolol Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 With the $ and term that big-name UFA's are said to be commanding (12yrs @ $80-$90 total), if Gillis cannot land a prime-time UFA for our top 6 then making a serious play for Rick Nash and his contract now might not be such a bad idea. Garrison & Raymond are extremely close, and Raymond played a huge factor for Garrison to sign here. It would be so disappointing if Raymond leaves after signing Garrison. Then we have this to start the season: Sedin - Sedin - Burrows Booth - Mueller - Higgins Raymond - Lapierre - Hansen Kassian - Malhotra - Bitz Weise Edler - Garrison Hamhuis - Bieksa Vandemeer - Ballard Tanev Luongo Schneider As the season goes on, near trade deadline we trade Ballard for picks to free up cap space, then maybe move Schneider OR Luongo for depth defenceman and Bobby Ryan Sedin - Sedin - Ryan Booth - Kesler - Higgins Raymond - Mueller - Hansen Malhotra - Lapierre - Kassian Bitz Edler - Garrison Hamhuis - Bieksa Vandemeer - Allen Tanev Luongo Lack That is enough offensive depth to go far in the playoffs with size on each line, and those defensive pairings are as solid as they get.
