Thanks for this. I was trying to find all his goals from last year.

Teeing up those blasts is WAY harder than it looks. Brian Campbell was second only to Karlsson, piling up 49 assists. Edler will not be as good at passing. Having said that, the Sedins will more than compensate for the loss .. lets see how Garrison does with the best passers in the game.

Yes, but we have some competent passers in the back end. Edler is a very good passer, Hamhuis is solid, as well as Bieksa. The Sedins are the key to Garrison's success. Can they do what they did to Ehrhoff?

So he's from BC, can play right side even though he shoots left (so he can be penciled in next to Edler), and has a bomb of a shot. I can see the Sedins setting him up for some easy one-timers. Stoked! :towel:

Garrison shoots like a monkey, have no idea how he scores so many goals.

I think his ability to play both sides will be key this upcoming season.

Maybe Bieksa won't be immune from benching now that you have another D that plays the right side.

We definitely will have a few SHG against with Edler trying to force/botching passes cross ice to this guy on the PP

It would be nice if he manages to score 40+ points being paired with Edler and getting some PP time.

40 is definitely possible. If Robidas can do it on a good year, Garrison can too.

So did Gardiner. Better not expect much from him next season

Well in Gardiner's defense, he's young, a highly touted prospect, former 1st round pick, with more development left.

Except Garrison is 27 with 3 NHL seasons under his belt while Gardiner is 22 with 1 NHL season.

I'm not even overly concerned about his point totals. We have guys that can pass the puck. We need guys who can bury the puck. Especially from the point. These one timers are exactly what we need on our PP.

I can't believe you had the audacity to compare Jake Gardiner, a future top pairing defenceman, to Jason Garrison, an overpaid late bloomer with potential staying power in the top 4.

One 30 point season at the age of 27 should NOT translate to a 27 million dollar contract, but thus is the nature of free agency.

You were talking out of your ass when you compared Gardiner to Garrison, because you can't take off the Canucks glasses for a second and take criticism of your team.

I guarantee you that you watched Gardiner play twice last year, and Garrison once, and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Agreed

I love Jason Garrison, excellent signing for the Canucks, but you can't compare a young, highly skilled defenseman such as Gardiner to him. This is a kid in his first year put up 30 pts, and was the Leafs #1 defenseman at times. Outplaying the likes of Phaneuf, Liles, Schenn, Franson, Gunnarsson, etc... He has a bright future.

Leafs destroyed Anaheim in that trade.

To TOR: Lupul, Gardiner
To ANA: Beauchemin

Anyways, Garrison still has some upside to his game, just because he is 27, it doesn't matter, he's relatively new to the NHL, and has some fine tuning left to do to his game. Can't wait to see him play.

Dang, it was supposed to be a joke. No need to take it that seriously. And btw, I actually do watch Leafs games. Usually against Boston though.

Let me rephrase my "joke" again. I was trying to portray a typical Canucks fan.

LOLLZZZZZ GARDINERZ ONLY PLAYED 1 GOOD SEASON 2 !11 DUN'T EXPECT MUCH FRUM HIM LOLOLOLOLOL/

25 - 35 seems realistic. His point total will depend on the amount of goals he scores. He doesn't have the passing abilities of Edler, Hamhuis, Bieksa or Salo.

Yeah, I guess so. He had a good year last year with the Panthers then his previous years. Now with his dream coming true, playing in the NHL with Vancouver I think he can do pretty good here getting some fair ice time. Some people will expect a lot from him this upcoming season since he had career year last season. But if he exceeds his expectations that would be awesome for a $4.6 cap hit.
