I believe this off season will be pivotal for him as a Canuck. If he comes and works with the team this off season, A.V. may give him chance to work his way Into the line up with some worthwhile mins. I know he is the only piece left from MG's attempt at something meaningful near the deadline, but if he starts off on the wrong foot with A.V. He is doomed to cleaning the sweat left behind by Rome in his locker. He has the skill set, size and potential I hope he lives up to it!

The team isn't training together right now... only the prospects (and i guess kassian isn't considered a prospect by the Canucks)

So Kassian is probably home in Windsor training by himself.

Week or so ago I heard Kassian did the Grouse grind with Malholtra and the Sedins. I would assume he's trying to shed a bit of weight.

I would call him a prospect, not sure why the Canucks don't?

I'm kinda hoping he goes and visits Gary Roberts... Isn't that what Hodgson did last summer?

Most guys who have already played in the AHL/NHL for a few years don't attend prospect camp. Same reason why Lack, Tanev, Connauton, etc don't go.

what are you on about? kassian is probably at his home.... where ever that is... training camp is not till sept.. why would he have to come back to van before that.. maybe you are confusing prospect camp? which is reserved for draftees and undrafted invitees..then they might invite some of them tooo wait for it... rookie camp

rookie camp, which is players who are drafted, and players under contract with Vancouver.. so mostly guys from chicago, maybe a few of the draft pics from this year...and invitees from prospect camp... and then when that is all over then you have regular camp....and some of the players they want a better look at from rookie camp might get invited to main camp...

It's the offseason, there usually isn't much in the way of updates for how players are training. Having said that, it's your lucky day:

I hadn't realized Tanev was attending too until I saw the tweet with the pic, but Kassian was there supposedly as well. Archibald was already tweeting about how much he enjoyed the Nike Employee Discount store. They also did a bunch of sports training and went camping with a Navy Seal. I was hoping for more pictures and information on it all actually.

Tanev is going to EDM. I can put my life savings down on it

Think I saw a tweet from Jeff Angus that Kass was hanging out (training probably) in Vancouver with the Sedins and Malhotra soon after the season ended. Not sure for how long though.

Heard from Buffalo fans that Kass is still a kid who needs constant guidance. And none better to provide some guidance than the Sedins and Malhotra - hopefully he's learning how to become a pro so he can be more consistent this year.

I'm hopeful that he'll make the similar jump that Hodgson made last year.

i think a starting the year in chicago playing top 6 minutes would be better for him instead of playing 6-8 minutes on the 4th line

Dude, you'll eat your words. Kassian will be a beast in 2-3 years. The kid has hands, speed, size, and a temper...if there was ever a chance and a Neely coming back to us, he's that..but it will take time...he's pretty young you know?

This is why I was wondering if anybody had heard if he is attending any training camps (other then the obvious one just prior to the season). If he is taking this more then just seriously! Like you I believe he has a lot of potential, but I also know that A.V. can be pretty harsh on young rookies with anything less then a total team attitude and I would hate to see another trade go bust!

Man is anyone else as pumped as me to see Kassian next year? Can't wait till we play the Bruins again. Kass is going to obliterate Marchand, Lucic, Bergeron, and Thornton.

I was just trolling the OPs question ;)

I agree that it'll take him 2-3 years to be an effective powerforward.

I don't think he is training with any well-known former players. Working out on his own or a few buds?
