[Signing] Andrew Raycroft signs in Italy

Ummmm, yeah it is. Playing b/u in the AHL and facing the best hockey prospects on the planet on a regular basis is FAR better than playing a bunch of WHL cast-offs who couldn't make it in NA so they took their parent's cultural heritage and cashed in a dual-citizenship just to pursue a dream (not that there is anything wrong with that, it's just not a high calibre). Not to mention the exposure he would have gotten playing in the AHL - when teams need emergency net-minders, they don't often go to Europe (Turco was the exception and look how that turned out), they go to the AHL.

Name one NHL calibre player (goalie or out) that went to Italy and came back to the NHL afterwards to join the NHL in a significant role with the exception of a lockout year and then try to tell us, "It's not a creer wrecker". Actually, now that I re-think it, maybe you're right - it's not a 'career wrecker' when you're career is alredy 'wrecked' when you go there.
