Does Jordan Schroeder Have Parise Potential?

What's the point in believing in a prospect pool if you're going to just write over guys off? He's not Patrick White. He was still rated 5th in the North American rankings the year he was drafted.

The organization is simply not rushing him. It's a good thing. People seem to think that because a player doesn't join the NHL after 3 years they are a bust, when it simply means they aren't being rushed. These same people seem to think they know more than our scouts, and our coaches, and Gillis.

I'm wrong because 1 other person who has watched him play disagrees with me? Thats great logic.

How is a 5'9, 180lb player going to effectively shut-down players like Nash, Perry, and Kovalchuck? Because that is what you want from your two-way players is it not? You want them to be able to shut down the other teams big guns. Schroeder would not be able to do that.

He might have improved his defensive skills in the AHL (a league where the stars are vastly inferior to the stars of the NHL), and it might make him a bit more effective if he is to make the NHL, but he is not going to be a legitimate 2 way player. If he is going to be a contributor for us, he would have to be on a scoring line, but right now he doesn't have the offensive skill for that.
