Italia2006
Would a team like Detroit want him? He'd fit in perfect there. I almost think at 4 million dollars he's kind of a bargain now.
Blueberries
He is still worth the same. Detroit wants talent to atleast try to replace Nick Lidstorm even though u cant.
UFCanuck
We have the cap space to keep him and still add. Rather not help Detroit out, let them suffer.
oldnews
Ballard is under-rated / over-crapped on... his contract is fine.
CanucksFanMike
Answer is still the same... a low draft pick
kesler#17
There's been a few teams that have kicked the tires on Ballard. Heard the oilers and islanders might be interested. You might be able To throw Detroit in there as well now. The return for ballard might be as much as a 1st rounder straight up the way this markets going. Everybody Hates Raymond
Ballard is worth playing 82 games a season, that's what Let him play his god damn game and see him flourish
Grape
I want more cap space. Ballard for a 5th will be fine.
jimmyking8888
Play Bieksa and Ballard as top 4. and Trade Bieksa and Ballard later. Get Weber next year.
King of the ES
I think this boosts his trade value up from "Future Considerations" all the way to "Conditional 6th Round Pick".

UFCanuck
But if we were to trade him a 1st round pick at the least would be coming our way.
aqua59
Is Ballard as people make him out to be? His first season was a flop beyond words, no question. But was last season all that bad? Until he got hurt AV used him consistently last season.

cdubuya
BALLARD IS NOT WORTH 4.2 MILLIONS DOLLARS. What is wrong with you homers. 4.2 could go a long way in helping out our 2nd line. We don't need a 6th dman making that much money when he's putting up 6 pts a season and when our coach seems to have no faith in his defensive abilities. No team is gonna pick him up at that price when guys like Salvador and Bryan Allen went for cheaper on the open market. Give your head a shake. Maybe Minny woulda considered taking him off our hands cause of the whole hometown thing had they lost out on Suter but I don't see that happening. At best maybe the leafs would trade komiserek or something for him. I would do that.
Trebreh
Det likes their puck moving defencemen so Ballard might be a fit. Their defence looks reallly weak, Kronwall and Ericisson are not top pairing defencemen. They also have like a ton of cap space and need to reach the cap floor. Ballard for Sheahan? cs2016
Keep him and give him a good chance to perform. He was one of our best d-man near the end of the season so I wouldn't give up on him yet.

Xbox
Well if we aren't doing anything with the cap space just keep Ballard. Whats the point in having room if we are not going to use it?
