oldnews
@nucksmisconduct Hello hello RT @news1130sports: The #Canucks have signed defenseman Derek Joslin to a 1 year - 2 way contract. Played 44 games in Carolina.
The Kassassin Train
I would love to try and get barker as a depth defenseman.

Canucks fan in chicago
Saw him when he played for San Jose. He's a pretty good checker and he can fight. He's only 25, he still has time.

SMR
Nothing against this kid or the signing, but you know MG hasn't done much in FA when this thread is at 5 pages.

Li'l Fra
I don't understand what some of you are looking for. Has MG missed out on any realistic FA signings? No. It's not a strong free agent pool. We got arguably the 5th highest rated FA this summer, for a better deal than any other team is making. Suter or Parise? Wasn't going to happen. Gillis' plan goes beyond this year. Next year Weber may be available, as part of a much better FA crop. Joslin and Mullen are two solid, depth signings. Joslin can play defence and forward, cheap versatility. Honestly, MG isn't going to make a trade/signing just for the entertainment of the fans. Fans who wouldn't be satisfied anyway, as they'd just be looking for the next deal. This isn't a video game, you can't hit the reset button. Yes, hockey is entertainment. Yes the offseason is entertaining. But don't get it twisted. Gillis could make deals all summer for the entertainment of the fans. We would have a completely different team, with no chemistry, and probably a hell of a lot worse than the one we already have come October. But hey at least we made a trade every day in the summer and we all were entertained. He can't magically make Free Agents appear. The cupboard is bare and we're not starving. Why pay $10 for a pickle when next summer we can get a steak for the same price?
Li'l Fra
Double post, but TSN and the Vancouver Sun are reporting that Joslin is 27. Talk about shoddy research. Birthdate: March 17, 1987. That would mean he just turned 26.

Canucksbiggestfan
I honestly believed that after Suter and Parise were signed, a lot of signing would occur.... So far there have been like 2 or 3. I hope Canucks get a veteran presence in Arnott and a possible top 6 in either Mueller or Wolski. Also another depth Defencemen would be good. Maybe everything is quiet because the league is waiting for either of the Luongo, Nash, or Ryan dominos to fall. Once one of them gets traded things could really pick up.
