CC19
The man is being absolutely ROBBED. Being paid 2M/yr for 4yrs and is a legit 30 goal scorer and penalty killer. I feel terrible for the guy, someone would probably throw $5M at hm if he puts up 30+ next year which he easily could playing with the Sedins. Zach Parise, known in the NHL as a true sniper and top line player gets a $98M contract coming off a 31 goal season. Putting this into perspective, Alex is due for a hefty raise after his contract is up. What will Burrows get in the open market if that's what it comes to? TotesMagotes
You feel sorry for someone making 2 million dollars a year playing the sport they love?? You've got to be kidding me. Alex Burrows is living the dream.
Froggy Fresh
Legit 30 goal scorer? This guy would be a 15-20 goal scorer if it weren't for the Sedins. Also, no. I don't feel bad that he's getting paid millions to do what he loves.
nuck7635
Umm.. why would anyone feel bad? The guy purposely asked for $2M because he knows he wouldn't have put up those goals without the Sedins and he did it to encourage other players on the team to take a paycut. :D
Yeah, Burrows is certainly hard done by... Forget the SPCA and the Food Bank, start sending donations to the make Burrows slightly richer fund.
CookieCrumbs
Overrated player with Canucks fans in my opinion. I'll probably get flamed for typing that, but I still think he's overrated despite his salary.
KING ALBERTS
burrows makes more than i will in 10 years, in 1... and he gets to earn it doing something he loves - for an undrafted ball-hockey champion, i don't think he feels bad for himself at all. Danthecanucksfan
Why feel bad for someone who is playing the sport they love on a winning team and making money for it. He took a hometown discount, that's all there is to it.
sport scout
i think burrows is very humble considering the canucks gave him a chance coming from the echl, undrafted

nuck nit
For me it is not about 'feeling bad' for any millionaire or pro athlete. It is about fairness and equitable distribution and if that is not addressed the workforce rots from within. You work at XYZ corp.,for instance.Buddy next to you was just hired for four times your wage and yet working side by side with him or her it is obvious that you do the same amount of work -and maybe more-plus you do a more thorough job. The GM won't renegotiate your contract, despite the fact you are being paid four times less than the newbie and you have made a much greater contribution to the success of the company. That is when your GM is a dick and you are being used.
