Overrated player with Canucks fans in my opinion. I'll probably get flamed for typing that, but I still think he's overrated despite his salary.

Do we really need him?

Burrows is nothing with out the sedins he signed to the 4 year contract because he knew on any other team he would be a bottom 6 winger. If anything just make him home assistant captain

he put up points in the World Championships and the Sedin Twins weren't his linemates

Really...? I thought you'd respect someone if they took less money to play for the team, but I guess not. Weird huh?

Hell even $2M isn't much in Vancouver. After taxes, you can barely purchase a home for yourself and family.

.

I guess if your plan is to buy a house outright in cash, because that is so common.

BAD MOVE!!!

BAD FING MOVE

HAHAHA ANOTHER INJURED MORON ON OUR TEAM

HE WILL JOIN US IN 2019

Benning will be fired next year. Hope he enjoys screwing around for a few months. I just cant believe this. Another injured BC player. We just got rid of garrison. Seems like the canucks and linden just wanted any BC born player. Doesn't matter if hes good or not. We don't need another Linden to get us to game 7 of the Stanley cup and lose. We need someone to win us a cup.

5 million a year for Vrbata? 6 million for Miller? Kesler for Bonino and 24th instead of 10th pick or one of their top prospects? Garrison for scraps?

ive already lost faith in JB. Ive never EVER had this bad of a feeling about management.

Legit 30 goal scorer? This guy would be a 15-20 goal scorer if it weren't for the Sedins.

Also, no. I don't feel bad that he's getting paid millions to do what he loves.

Can we apply this logic to anyone? Stamkos isn't a legit 60 goal guy, he just has great linemates.

Give him an A and 3.5 a year. Or 4. Or 4.5. Great player, teammate and I love watching him play. He should retire a canuck

Then what is? $2M a year is a lot of money. If you made $250K last year you are in the top 0.7%.

3.5M with some term I think, but he isn't all that young. But agreed, he has to retire a Canuck.

I don't "feel sorry" for him, but I definitely appreciate him. As for his salary, he is definitely worth more than 2 mil. I'd say 3.5 which would mean he's making a little more than half of what he's worth.

I agree, its fools like these that make people think this board is full of morons(though they are right a lot of times)

Fools like these? It's a message board you door knob. You think 1000's of people are going to have the same opinion on any one player. I think he's valuable and comes at a good price, but I don't think he's irreplaceable and I don't think he's as Godly as a lot of 15 year olds do on here.

I am glad you two have told us all how little you understand about the game of hockey. If you think Burrows is over rated, you've serioulsy never competed at anything, let alone hockey in your life.

Laughable.

What an idiotic assumption. Coming from "ABurrows14".

Take Burrows off the first line and his 30 goals drop down to 20. GMs around the league aren't blind to who players play with. Every player that plays with the sedins end up scoring a bunch. You wanna give Lappy a raise too for his 2 hot weeks he had when he was playing with the sedins?

80'84': The Dynasty
After the Islanders' regular season dominance and playoff disappointment in 79', Arbour decided that he would no longer concern himself too greatly with his team's finish in the regular season. He focused his team on how they would perform in the playoffs. The Islanders dropped below the 100-point mark for the first time in five years, but they finally broke through and won 4 Stanley Cups.

Honestly he's worth about 3 or 4 million. Give that extra money to the Sedins who have turned him into a 30 goal scorer. Without them he would struggle to put up 20 goals by himself and you all know it.

Definitely underpaid by today's scale - hell, even if that bum Raymond gets cut, he'll make more - but considering that nobody twisted his arm, and that the contract seemed fair to both sides at the time, it's hard to feel sorry for him. He'll cash in on the next one.

Burrows is a good player - no doubt. But I don't think that his stats would be quite as impressive without the Sedins. I've been an advocate for getting a big physical player with skill to play with the Sedins, then drop Burrows down to the 2nd line where I feel he better belongs.

I think he is worth maybe 3.5m?

Burrows is my favorite type of hockey story. He has clawed and fought for everything he has. He started at the bottom, on the edge of obscurity. From the ECHL to first line on an NHL team. I truly believe he will stay a canuck and at the same time be paid a fair NHL wage. MG knows what he has in Burrows.

When you realize how much time you spend away from your family, friends, and loved ones, along with the unexpectedness that comes with FA/Trades/Line-ups, no, you wouldn't.

How UNAPPRECIABLE are Canucks fans? The guy takes a discount, yet we are still showing no sympathy towards him! This guy bleeds blue.

Source:

Spoiler

Only 1,145,411 M
