[2014 Winter Classic] Canucks vs Bruins?

50 posts in this topic

Should the Canucks play the Bruins in the 2014 Winter Classic? It is possible considering it's always cold in the winter in Boston, and they have the stadium for it. Gillete Stadium seats 68,000 and would be perfect for a hockey game. And the fact that it would be a rematch of the 2011 Stanley cup teams would make it even better!

I think the rivalry has cooled off.

Canucks, Hawks or Canucks, Wild (If they GG)

I don't think it will happen but I'd like to see it. Wouldn't want to do 24/7 though cause I'm sure HBO would make Boston look like big tough hockey players and the Canucks a bunch of diving little whiners.

2011's a little recent, and I don't think the Canucks and Bruins have too much notable history between them. And if I'm thinking correctly, the Canadian and American Classics are separated into the Heritage Classic and Winter Classic, I believe.

I could see it being either Bruins vs. NYR/Philly, or Canucks vs. Oilers/Jets.

It wouldn't be a "Classic" it would end up a brouhaha.

If the Wild are for real we could rekindle what we had in 02/03.

Do you honestly think Bruins fans think the Canucks are their rival?

This so-called "rivalry" is a product of Canuck fans who are still angry.

Push it a few years back and do Canucks-Wild at the Vikings new stadium

Nah. It's probably a lot harder to clean the blood of the ice in an outdoor rink...

It has cooled off, but it would be nice to send Garrison or Weber out for a big hit on Marchand ::D
