First Pinizzotto last year (re-signed a few days ago) and now Mullen... why are we signing these boarderline AHLers?

Also Joslin was bought out by the Canes so if he isn't good enough to make Carolina, a non-playoff team, then he probably isn't good enough to make a presidents trophy winning team. There are still alot of good depth defencemen out there who are relatively cheap which we should go after for depth.

Signing depth players in anticipation of moving a roster D-man. Luongo trade might be happening soon, or could be bringing in someone else.

Edler for Weber? :bigblush:

I think MG is thinking these will be our 8th and 9th dman in our depth being that alberts is number 7 both are 6foot or taller at lease we have taking care of our dman depth problem for now. good depth sighing MG

Pinizzotto looked impressive in camp last year and probably would have made the team had he not suffered a long term injury, he definitely deserved another crack. The other two are defencemen, and as we know, we can never have enough depth at defence.

AHL signing fools.

The key difference is that Sopel can fill in for Seabrook and Campbell just fine. Bieksa, he is garbage so in that sense he is like the worst defenseman in the league.

When Cody (Hodgson) gets older, he might be better than Datsyuk.

Let's not push this guy (Kassian). He's still immature, and if he fails on the 2nd line it's because he isn't ready. Some guys really need years to develop, it's how well and how fast players adapt to the game. In my opinion, I'd rather have Horvat getting 2nd line minutes. He will start off on the 3rd line next season but I see him making the transition, being a great compliment to whoever plays his wings.

At this point, I don't see Kassian fitting in to any role other than a 3rd. If players like Kassian start getting 2nd line minutes then we just stay inconsistent as a team.

The idiocy on CDC....

These guys will never make it on our team, regardless of injuries. A couple plugs for the Wolves, nothing more

Nevermind, he is..lol. Looked up his player bio.

I seem to have mentioned in several posts that all we're gonna see from Gillis is more AHL signings like last year. All we're gonna have left in UFA is Semin...4.5 per year for 2 years I'm still good with that!

NO MORE AHL SIGNINGS...THEY WON'T HELP US GILLIS!!! :picard:

With Baumer retiring and Parent being let go, the Canucks needed more depth on the Wolves. Maybe Joslin or Mullen will surprise and make the team (or just move further up the depth chart), but it's always good to have more depth.

Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists somewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.

It bugs me when people pull out the gold medal for an example... Luongo only had to outplay Brodeur.

FYI hockeydb says Mullen had 13-28=41 last season. The tweet was his 2010-11 stats.

Joslin? Mullen? Why not just keep Sulzer?
