Title says it all, I know he's a UFA but, no one has signed him yet.

Is he that injury prone that no one will pick him up?

**UPDATE**

Pascal Leclaire has thrown in the towel due to his ailing hip.

The 30-year-old former Ottawa Senators and Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender announced his retirement from hockey Monday night on RDS.

Leclaire said tried to make a comeback this year but was unable to fully recover after three hip operations over the summer.

Although he played parts of seven seasons in the NHL, the Repentigny, Que., native only appeared in 173 games in a career chock full of injuries.

A leg injury during the 2006-07 season cost him his starting job with the Blue Jackets. He regained his No. 1 status during a spectacular 2007-08 season -- he went 24-17-6 with a 2.25 goals-against average, .919 save percentage and had nine shutouts -- but was traded to the Senators after suffering a season-ending ankle injury at the start of the 2008-09 campaign. He ended up playing just 48 games for Ottawa over two injury-riddled seasons.

Leclaire ends his career with a 61-76-15 record, a 2.89 GAA and .904 SV%. His last NHL game was Dec. 16, 2010.

Ah good ol' Pascal

I'm pretty sure like 50% of his body is just made up of prosthetics now.
The guy was like Rick DiPietro but worse.

Well, last i heard, one team was interested in signing him last year but he failed a physical. Maybe, he'll get a tryout if he's lucky. Reminds me of Paul Kariya, who apparently was rumored to have signed a 2 year deal with Anaheim but failed his physical and retired.

He could be a good backup for Cory Schneider.

Well according to NHL he hasn't played a game since 2010-2011. Last news i heard of him was he was placed on waivers by the senators, no one picked him up, and he played one game for the Sens farm team. Then he kind of fell of the face of the earth.

I'd rather have a Hasek robot over Leclaire as a backup. just saying.

He certainly had the skills to be a top-end goalie. With 9 shutouts in a season with the CBJ, that's just amazing.
It's a shame that he couldn't go out on his own term.

I don't think anyone is worse than Rick. That guy never gets to play. A little over half a season in 4 years. LOL

Can't tell if you're joking or not, but it is definitely sad. Sad for Pascal. All that work to get to the NHL, a couple of very promising seasons, and now forced into retirement at the age of 30. Yikes.

Maybe people should ease off goalies a wee bit. It's a very demanding position. You do great, and everyone loves you. Let in a soft one, the fans will crucify you. You have to be strong, flexible, have good concentration, and great reflexes. And do this for the whole length of the game.

Even some pros like LeClaire and others just can't hold up to the physical demands of being a goalie.

I can see him being a good goalie coach somewhere in the NHL.

I'll always remember him as the goalie with the candy cane looking pads lol

30 years old and unable to play hockey. That's really tough. Even as just a recreational player it is one of my greatest fears that being a goalie will take too much of a toll on my body and I'll have to quit before I'm ready to. Can't imagine what it must be like for someone like him whose entire life was based around a hockey career. And it must be especially tough because he actually had potential. It's not like he wasn't good enough to make it.

Best of luck to him in whatever he does next.
