Where's Wellwood
Overpayment in my opinion and you should replace 'the' with 'this' in your title otherwise it seems like you're asking people for their opinion on a trade that has already happened

King of the ES
Any deal involving the acquisition of Weber will likely need to include Kesler. He's signed to a L/T, reasonable deal, which Nashville is interested in. They wouldn't be interested in Alex Edler, today, because they'd then essentially be getting a guy in the same situation as Weber, who can choose somewhere else to sign in a year. timberz21
Suter 7.53M - 13 years Weber 7.5 - 7 years no way, weber will cost at least 8.5 under a 10 years deal. His agent will play the suter card, saying Weber is better. And people will pay. My guess is a minimum of 7.75 - 12 years deal.
theman
Wait a year and just try get Weber in the offseason as it is unlikely he signs a long term deal. Canucks are apparently high in his list

L'Orange
Could Edler be signed to a 5 year deal, then traded to Nashville? Or would that give Weber the heebeejeebees?

Hobbes!!!
Oh God no. Too much for a guy who's a UFA in a year. Even if it is Weber.

goblix
So you're insinuating that Edler = Late first and one of Vancouver's underwhelming prospects? Ok buddy.
GHL
He's saying that Nashville won't want Edler because he is UFA next year... they lost Suter to UFA, they are having trouble signing Weber as an RFA and last thing they want to do is trade for a player that can leave them as a UFA after 1 year. Why not just keep Weber in that case..

goblix
I'm sure they'd consider taking Edler if they're getting Kesler and a 1st too.
Jägermeister
I think it stinks. A bunch of spare parts (plus Edler) wouldn't land you Weber alone, let alone one of Nashvilles top young forwards.
