GHL
Lol MASSIVE overpayment. trade a 40 goal scoring Selke winner & All-Star defenceman both in their primes AND a 1st round pick (albeit it probably being low) too. Who's going to center our second line? Andrew Ebbett? LMAO
goblix
40 goal scorer huh? 2008 - 21G 2009 - 26G 2010 - 25G 2011 - 41G 2012 - 22G I would tend to say that the 41 goal season was perhaps an exception? Calling Kesler a 25 goal scorer is the limit really... ...and you do realize Weber is an All star as well and will be in competition with the best of them for all possible defenseman awards, winning most of them year after year? Edler disappears during the playoffs; Weber comes to life. Again, Weber and Edler are the same age so Weber is just entering his prime too but is already on top of the league as far as defensemen are measured. As for the second line center, Kesler is a glorified 3C. Best in the game. But as a 2C, he hampers his wings as he doesn't pass. Luongo for Lecavalier is a realistic trade and having Lecavalier as a 2C makes whoever plays wing that much better. Think of it as having Sundin but at roughly $3.000 MIL discount on his $10.000 MIL Gillis offer.
