Italia2006
I hope Gillis can pull this off. I'd love to have his leadership. You can never have enough leaders and character guys. I hope he decides to come here tomorrow or the next day. We should get Trevor Linden to call him.

-Vintage Canuck-
Hate to say this but the chances are he'll sign in Phoenix. But there are still so many options out there that we can fit on our 2nd line, guys like: Semin, Huselius, Mueller, etc.

Italia2006
All of which I wouldn't want... Chances are he'll stay in Phoenix, and if he doesn't I doubt he'd choose Vancity. We missed out on Tootoo, I would have given him much more than Detroit did.
CanucksFanMike
Doan could be a really good pick up for the playoffs.... solid veteran leader. But I think he should go back to the Jets!!
allkill326
We need a 3rd-liner D first, before we go about signing huge contracts for the likes of Semin, Doan, and Nash. That is the reality.
Ghostsof1915
Love to see him here. What he doesn't make up with in points he will make up with leadership and inspiration. 50 points, 205 hits! The minus -8 is of concern, but not in the big picture. 9 points, +2 in 16 playoff games last year.
NightHawkSniper
Not interested in any of those guys. We need character guys with leadership. Those guys especialy Semin are the opposite. So no thank you.

John.Tallhouse
We need Doan, this team needs a kick in the ass and someone with some balls to do it (Doan) . Come on Gillis let me open up canucks.com tommorow and see Doaners face on the front page!!
Curmudgeon
The ownership deal in Phoenix isn't settled yet. There's a petition that seems to be gaining traction and, if it is accepted, the tax giveaway to the new owner will go to a referendum in the fall. The citizens could reject the deal, which means the deal could fall through. Either way, Doan wants the ownership situation cleared up before he commits to another season or three of uncertainty. So, he will likely wait another few days before deciding what to do. If he leaves, there will be no shortage of GMs looking to sign him. Dark horse? L.A., for the same reasons Steve Nash chose the Lakers.
six-0h-four-
Steve Nash knew that when Gretzky talked to Schultz on the Oilers' behalf it screwed the Canucks. So when #99 asked him to go to Toronto, he said "Nah brah".
