Drybone
to me the most ridiculous trade was the Lindros trade. The flyers traded Forsberg and Ricci (4th overall) and a whole pile of other crap for a guy who needed to become the next Gretzky to honestly be worth it. Its pretty hard to imagine needing to be as good as gretzky or Lemiuex to be worth the trade. Thats a huge leap of faith. In hindsight, if this trade is for an 18 year old gretzky, the Flyers win the trade by a landslide. If its for an 18 year old Mario Lemiuex they still win the trade by a noticable amount. I would argue the Lindros package would have to have yielded something like Gordie Howe to be considered even.
VforVasili
The Flames trade Doug Gilmour, Jamie Macoun, Kent Manderville, Ric Nattress, Rick Wamsley to Calgary for Gary Leeman and scraps.
Kumquats
Eric Lindros to Philadelphia pretty much gave the Nordiques / Avalanche the Cup. Sort of forgotten in that trade was the first round draft pick included, who was Thibault, who was traded for Patrick Roy.

Paul_Kariya28
The Gretzky trade was for financial reasons. It does not belong in the top 10.

ilovewinona
The Forsberg - Lindros deal was a pretty bad one for Philly. Sure, Lindros was great but if you're looking at his injuries and all and look at what Colorado got out of the deal you can't really argue which of the teams profited the most from the trade. LanghorneslimRules
Booth to VAN for Samuelsson, Sturm. This wasn't a bad trade for the cats at the time but since they didn't reisign either sammy or sturm they basically gave up a 30 goal scorer for free! Tangerines
Geoff Courtnall for John Kordic. GC was on the Leafs, but can't remember where Kordic came from. Think it was St. Louis. To Lazy to come up with 9 more. Peace.
