D.Doughty
The New Jersey Devils submitted a multi-year deal to free agent Alexander Semin today.
Smashian Kassian
That would be interesting, but alot of teams have. Imagine. Kovalchuk - Zajac - Semin They should just trade and get a Russian center too.
Cucumber
they need someone who can replace parise and they don't want to trade for nash or ryan so semin is the next best option for them but I would try to give him a 5year deal for 3.25million per year if doan doesn't sigh here
elvis15
They had to do something after losing Parise. It all depends on the details of what was offered however.

Ghostsof1915
Good luck on that New Jersey. You've just lost Adam Oates and Robinson as strong parts of your coaching staff. If DeBoer can motivate Semin, he wins coach the year in my books.
mpt
hey,,why not try at league minimum because if you think he wont get 5-6 mill per season you must live near a glue factory.

Jester@wraiths.ca
ya i know he wants 5million+ but HE can't fit under the cap if he earning 5million or more he will most likely go to KHL and get 6million

Cucumber
Who's cap are you talking about that he can't fit under? New Jersey has over 16 million in cap space right now, if they want him, they have room. For that matter, 26 of the 30 teams have at least 6 million in cap space available. DownUndaCanuck
Parise is way overated, Semin is actually not that far off him (if not better). Simply put, Semin is far more skilled than Parise is harder working. Also, the two skilled Russians will play much better together with a tough center like Henrique to even out the line. That's one of the most skilled lines in the league now with deadly shots from both wings, making them much harder to defend than a simple shooter-playmaker-powerforward combo. TheWestCoastConnection
Not a bad call by the Devils, easiest way to try to replace Parise fast.
Tortorella's Rant
Why have one Russian with a questionable work ethic when you can have two? All kidding aside though, he's one of the few Russians that does work hard and does want to win. Well, that's not true. There's a bunch of them. But a few lazy ones have tarnished the Russian reputation somewhat
