Canucksh
Looking at all the hate on this thread... and people wonder why Luongo wants out. Raymond came back from a broken spine... I wonder if anyone here could say they had a broken spine, and then played in the NHL the year after. So much disrespect in Vancouver, its disgusting. Its obvious that they signed him to a one year deal for him to prove that he can still play at the NHL level. It would have been a bad contract if they signed him for a few years, or if he got a raise. This contract is very fair, he had a bad year since he was coming back from a broken spine, now hes taken a pay cut so that he can show hes worth the contract that he was getting before. All these people talking trash about the players on the team is just giving the "fans" of the team a bad reputation, then no one will want to play here. JensenFan2011
MG better watch out... he is actually on a short leash if we have another out in the first round year... MG and AV will be fired
suolucidir
Not sure why we resigned him? Sign and trade doesn't seem likely but I'd love it if that was the case.
2009cupchamps
I would try to see if we can't use Doan's physical play to compliment the Sedin Bros Sedin Sedin Doan Booth Kesler Burrows Raymond Lapierre Hansen Higgins Malhotra Kassian or some such... 5minutesinthebox
Bunch of maroons. This signing means very little. There was no chance that he wasn't going to be extended at around this mark. Arbitration wouldn't have gotten him any lower, and he's be guaranteed to be signed for 1 more year. That was all a GIVEN. All this means is that if there are/were plans to trade him those talks can begin now. Anyone upset by this has no understanding of the process whatsoever. CrippledCanuck
Ugh...I wouldn't have gone over 2 mil. I hope this signing doesn't mean Gillis couldn't sign or acquire anybody else.
George_Costanza
Nice to have that done and dealt with, I don't understand why everyone hates the guy so much.
5minutesinthebox
He was actually a problem on whatever line he was on because he always seemed to bring the line down. It was just more evident in the top 6.

JensenFan2011
GTFO...Back to Back president trophy and went to the Finals last year, and he would get fired if there is a first round exit this year? Are you serious? Do you also get fired from your job when you come late for the first time?
JensenFan2011
IMO, hes good for what his job is. Hes fast, he can bring the puck from their own end of the ice, into the other teams end, and get a shot on net. I believe his job is mainly to get the puck into the other teams end, scoring is a bonus...but getting the puck on the other teams goalie, and forcing a whistle in their end is a good advantage. Raymond is very good at this.

Hyzer
Raymond is good at a few things: throwing Hipchecks to cost us a crucial goal (a la Kopitar) and falling down. The latter, he is certainly an expert at. He's also useless at puck battles and brings nothing to the team for his 2M. Trade him Mr. MG.
