ABurrows14
Gotta say I like this, the guy deserves another year with us after fighting so hard to come back. Hope he regains some of that flash we saw early on...
canucksnihilist
Give Raymond a break. Year recovering from injury you have to expect him to suck. Kesler sucked most of the year (recovering from an injury or getting a new one). a year without injury: let's see what he can do. merit > sentiment
MikeBossy
So he can be traded because he signed before the arbitration hearing?? If so this is a great move.. Better off getting a draft pick or decent 4th liner for him than nothing. Who knows maybe his back was really hindering him last year and he will come back stronger and score 50 Pts. I hate him as much as everyone else but letting him walk would have been stupid because there are teams out there that will want him.
Cr8zyCanuck
I want to see him prove us all wrong this season. If he doesn't, well we expected it anyways.
-Vintage Canuck-
Just looked up the year Mason Raymond was drafted in. And wow! Can't believe instead of Raymond we could have selected: Letang, Quick, Yandle.

Primal Optimist
He could have been traded after the arbitration hearing - only thing Canucks couldn't have done was walk away from a decision.
ABurrows14
What a waste of money. People keep saying 'rebound year after injury'...he wasn't having a particularly great year before his injury!! And he had 1 goal in the playoffs!!! This guy has had one good season, and yes flukes happen. He's a weak, small perimeter player. Waste of cap space. Primal Optimist
If we pick up Doan, where would Raymond fit? Sedin - Sedin - Burrows Booth - Kesler - Doan Higgins - Matthias - Hansen Raymond - Lapierre - Kassian ?
MrsHiggins20
Seeing what's being handed out for contracts, I'd say this is a fair deal, especially considering the term. I wish Mason Raymond well and look forward to him having a comeback year.
Argon
as much as I hate to see him stay here, it's either this or him going to arbitration. And with that we'd either lose him for nothing or be stuck with him for the year. Gillis had to do this to keep his options open and keep something with some value... CanucksWino
Last 33 playoff games: 2 goals. That's over 3 different playoff runs. Thanks for coming out, Raymond...

Tanev's Smirk
So... 2 or more falls in his first game of the 2012-2013 season? I'll say 4.
votrechien
The sentiment would have been different if this was a $1.5mil signing. So really, for the extra $700,000 do we want to risk one last shot on a player that has obvious potential?

NP-4815162342
If we sign doan second line could be this untill kesler returns Booth-Raymond-doan He's played center before and maybe he do good there with doan then when keslers back maybe he'll go to the third
