Dogbyte
Yes true. Of course the player wants it all up front and that means more to the player. So it's an incentive to sign. But the main part of the front loaded contracts is that ye cap hit is reduced artificially as the player will retire. But doesn't work with 35+ players as it is still on ye books
mbal23
Not a good source but @HockeyyInsiderr: More on Doan: he has been informed Jamison deal with #Coyotes is a go so he is working on 4 year extension with #Coyotes *almost done* @HockeyyInsiderr: Sources say there is one other Western conference team pushing HARD to get Doan will try to find out details in the evening. #Coyotes Maybe its the nucks? JordanEberle
Sundin like deal: 20 million 2 years. He would likely perform better than Sundin did... 1. Offer it, he may not accept it all. It just shows the commitment to him by the organization. If he accepts it all that is ok of course 2. No long term risk 3. Means Luongo trade is a cap dump for young prospects - which is realistic. 4. He is here for the last few years of our window. This would be another bold move for sure. DeNiro
Hockey Insider also said that Parise had signed with the Penguins. Don't put too much into this. All we know for certain is that the Canucks have in fact made an offer. And that Doan is considering his options right now.

The Kassassin Train
He did then he prolonged it and that date passed. Now there is no date and could happen anytime. The only reason for the date was to see if the Coyotes are stay in Phoenix and still nothing is 100% with the team staying there. They're probably stay next year but beyond that it's still up in the air.
