Only way CGY does this is if they talk to TT and confirm he will play next year as opposed to work on his (#2012) (#end of world) bunker in COL. Perhaps the Flames feel they can get a lot more for Kipper than what it would cost to land Thomas (very likely), without losing much performance-wise. Thomas' Conservatism will fit in fine in Alberta. And if by some miracle he wins a cup with the Flames, he won't be invited to the Whitehouse.
