Or maybe, just maybe, Alex Semin is not a money hungry floater and WANTS to play in the NHL?

He is Russian though, we are all money hungry. :P

I was joking, but the threat to Crosby's career is still very serious folks.

He didn't look 100% throughout their round 1 series vs. Philly and if he continues being rocked all around the ice... Woof... HUGE risk there.

That being said, a 35% Crosby is still more useful than a 100% Semin.

If true I have no sympathy for the caps. They completely effed him in a contract year by playing him with 3rd liners. Don't follow the caps too closely so I dont know if him and Ovi have chemistry problems but the only time they got to play together was on the PP.

It's funny people backing up crosby because of his concussions yet raymond gets no remorse

don't get me wrong - i don't like raymond or have any sympathy .. just saying.

I feel like if Crosby wasn't in Pittsburgh, Malkin would just be another lazy Russian. Crosby's influence can probably change Semin for the better..

Crosby might end up mentally handicapped if he takes one more hit.

Don't see what the big deal is. The guy will be worth 100 mill plus in no time and even if he never gets to lace up his skates again there are much worse things that get made fun of on a daily basis here and in our society.

Aw, boo-hoo-hoo.

All i was saying, 'just jokinen' about it or not, the threat is still real. Crosby could very well be on LTIR forever. What difference does it make if a person points that out or not? Take a pill.

Pittsburgh seems like the perfect place for Semin who was struggling with the Capitals which in fact is not that crazy as the Capitals as a team have been struggling.

By going to Pittsburgh he could play either on the first line with Crosby which would make it way much easier for him to score or on the second line with Malkin which would provide him with great passes and good friendship too as they both speak the same language and could prolly be room mates on the road and share alot of off ice moments.

Also maybe the strong winning tradition and stability of Penguins along with Mario Lemieux, Crosby and Malkin could make him work harder, have more heart and passion along with a more professional mentality...

I'm tired of ppl talking about Semin's negative character when they don't have any clue on how he really is. The fact is Semin took a 1 year contract to play in WSH when he could have cashed in as UFA.

Most ppl prefer Suter and Parise, what did they do? They both bolted. Parise was a captain of the Devils and he left the team, if he was Russian he'd be called all sorts of names. Soldier means loyal, so far Semin has been loyal to the Caps even though he's had to put up with all sorts of negative crap.

I'm sure there are many players who would be loyal enough to be paid $6M per year to strictly play offense. He is in no way, shape, or form, a loyal soldier.

He's a lazy player.

Semin - Crosby

Neal - Malkin

Kunitz - Sutter

Who cares about the RW, they should just throw 2 guys out.

They could do it as a fan promo...every game three seats are drawn at random to suit up...

Damn Semin is going to have a 85 + point season for sure if he signs with the penguins.

Also wasn't it Semin who said Crosby is overrated and sum other player is better than him?

What's so special about [Crosby]? I don't see anything special there. Yes, he does skate well, has a good head, good pass. But there's nothing else. Even if you compare him to Patrick Kane from Chicago ... [Kane] is a much more interesting player.

Oh yeah... Semin doesn't think Crosby's anything special. Forgot about that little spat of his. That thought may flip if he starts getting some 'special-looking' passes from Sid.

'Oh wow.' lol

Semin's a beast, when he wants to be. A new start in Pits would jumpstart his career IMO.

Also, the Pens get a legit tough guy. Have you seen his one-two combo? Almost drum-like.

The bigger joke will be on Pittsburgh when they'll still be on the hook for that uninsured contract, imo. Let's hope they develop better methods of protection against concussions then, eh?

Thank you. So sick of the "lazy Russian" crap. It's borderline racist.
Also, poeople don't seem to understand that it takes a variety of different tools to do the job. Not everyone can be that amazing two-way guy. Not everyone can skate like a figure skater. Not everyone can check guys through the boards. Not everyone is a world class sniper. And on and on.
A team full of goaltenders wouldn't be any more useful than a team full of defensive forwards. Get it through your thick, prejudiced heads.
Also, Vancouver would be lucky to have Semin considering they couldn't seem to score their way out of a wet paper bag their last two playtoff appearances. Or did the dingbats already forget?

Snake Doctor, on 23 May 2014 - 10:41 AM, said:snapback.png

Miller is not on our list. It's Lack as our #1. There is no reason we would have traded both Schnieder and Luongo if we never intended to give Lack the #1 starting job.  Furthermore, the salary and term Miller is looking for is not in our favor.

On the topic of our 1st round picks not panning out:

"All are either traded, busted, or dead"

Paraphrase of course, as I don't have the few hours it would take to find it amongst all your comments.
