S.Mouse!
Doan wouldn't want the C. It disrupts chemistry to change captains, especially to give it to a new guy. If Henrik decided he didn't want to be Captain any more, then fine, but I don't think that is the case at all. Messier was an egomaniac, which is why he accepted (demanded?) the C when he came here. Doan has too much class for that. He would be a leader whether he has a letter on his chest or not.

DocHouse
Oh dear god... why do we let these idiots on the internet? If Doan signs here he would get an A at best.
Drybone
Doan is going to walk up to Henrik and literally rip the C off his sweater, leaving a hole in his jersey. Henrik will have to wear a uniform with a hole in it for the rest of the year. Daniel and Kesler will sit there and do nothing as Doan walks off with the C . Its Messier redux. John.Tallhouse
Henrik is a great player its just he doesn't have the 'it' factor to be a Captain. By giving the Captaincy to Shane Doan it might benefit the team because it would put less pressure on Henrik. This means he could focus on scoring. Everyone knows Henrik isn't the most vocal leader. Shane Doan is Canadian and I kind of compare him to Trevor Linden. A player who was born to lead a team. If we get Doan I want him to become our new Captain. And its not like the organization hasn't changed captains before i.e Luongo
t_ray99
Hank's our captain. Vancouver has a great history of long-standing canucks serving as captain. From Kurtenbach through Linden to Sedin. While Doan's a great leader he isn't the lifetime canuck that the twins are
Meyer_Buttreeks
Dat be a facepalm. I'll have to consult the Canucks Official Team Rulebook to confirm but I think if Doan comes the Canucks would have to appoint the newly signed Mayson Raymond as team captain. Once again, I do need to recheck on that particular rule.

dirk diggler
That's a big "if" but if we do get him, I would say yes. Sedin's play-off record is unacceptable for a captain and noone else on the team currently screams CAPTAIN plus I believe you need that Canadian spirit at the helm. Does anyone have stats on Doan's play-off performances? Does he step it up?
Datsyukian
There are so many reasons why Doan should get the C (leadership, toughness, ability, work ethic). He is a guy that can obviously play, stick up for teammates, throw a big hit to get the team going, or score a big goal. The only reason why they should not give it to him is that it can stir things up in the locker room (much like Messier-Linden) and it is not worth the damage. Also, Doan is a guy that doesn't need a letter to be a leader for the squad. I just hope they get him!
*vInTaGe*
I don't think so at all. Give him one of the 4 "A"s. That's IF he comes here.
dirk diggler
Sedins are running out of time too, just like Luongo did. Regular season stats can go make-love to themselves.
