Raymond is usually the 2nd line winger and if we signed Doan then he'd have to be demoted obviously but.. I don't like the idea of having a him on a checking line. Plus if we trade Luongo we could possibly get grittier & bigger guy(s) to fit that role better than Raymond, he probably wouldn't contend with the wingers we already have too, Hansen, Higgins. I know this is a big IF but I would like to hear others opinions still.

If we sign Doan, Raymond should be moved.

On second thought Raymond should be moved anyways, he just doesnt fit here anymore.

There's no way Doan will sign here with the cap space we have left. There's a very high chance that Doan will only be brought to REPLACE a player rather than join the team. I'd put my money on Raymond being the odd one out, though I do feel sympathetic towards him and feel he hasn't been given a fair shot like Kesler has.

I think he would be a temporary 3rd liner, as he can backcheck and forecheck efficiently, so that we can display him for trade bait, and bring in whatever piece we see that we need come either December or the trade deadline. I don't see him still on the team during the playoffs, barring injuries (knock on wood), a major career turn around, or MG just not being able to find a buyer.
Hopefully Raymond can turn his play around well enough to find a suitable home where he can showcase his talents off better in, maybe a team like the Islanders. He needs a team that is thin on depth where he can shine, (but not have too much media pressure in a big market like Vancouver), because he is also defensively responsible enough to take care of himself.

were allowed to go over by 10% for the summer and
kesler is on LTIR - saves us money..

we will also end up saving maybe 1-2m on the luongo deal.

hopefully raymonds useless ass gets moved.

With Raymond you have a player who is fast and skilled. Anyone that follows the Canucks knows how soft of a player he is.

That being said.......

Can't see him cracking the top 6 if we want to bring a cup to Vancouver.

Hansen and Higgins are better wingers to have on the 3rd line.

His softness and lack of physicality make him a waste to have on the 4th line.

If MG keeps him around I will be disappointed!

if its av deciding I think raymond will be on the second line, doan first line, burrows down to third line and Higgins down to the fourth line.

that would be the stupidest move AV can make - I'd want him fired.

Can't we just get rid of Kassian and keep Ray? Kassian may seem promising to some people (and I'm not saying hes a bust) but Raymond needs and I would say deserves another season to get back to 100% He's givin alot to this Organization and he can be a good energy for the 3rd line

a good energy guy does not mean skate aimlessly like a moron and eventually fall - create no chances does nothing...

good energy guys are lappy and hansen even higgins - theres no way in hell you will compare them to raymond..

why does raymond deserve another season? we've seen him for multiple seasons .. you can't just keep giving them another season over n over again hoping they'd break out of the slump - this guy is not top 6 worthy so how will he prove himself anyways?

Raymond and Hansen both have speed to burn so having them get in on the forecheck could drive the opposition defense nuts....the problem is that Raymond isn't physical enough and falls down at the slightest contact so I would rather have Higgins on the 3rd than Raymond.
I would try and trade Raymond for a 3rd line centre because I just can't imagine Raymond as a 4th liner.
As far as Doan, I would love to see him in a Canuck jersey but realistically, we don't have enough cap space to sign him.

Raymond will be traded or sitting in the press box. He's either gunna play like a 2nd line winger or not at all . He's a terrible. Checker and obv can't play on the 4th

that is exactly why he is going to end up on the second line if he isn't traded

Ephesians 2:7-9

"That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

With Doan in the lineup I see Raymond starting the year on the 3rd line with Higgins and Lapierre.
Seriously though we know how AV likes to juggle and reward or punish players with their play.
We could see Raymond with Kesler and Doan, Booth with the twins and Burrows on the third.

Doesn't matter to me, as long as the leash for him is short.

(Hopefully) Everybody (Else) Loves Raymond... if Shane comes here then good bye May Ray!

Twins - Booth
Burr - Kes - Doan
Higgins - Lapierre/ 3C - Hansen
Weise - Manny - Kassian

that's pretty solid... though 3rd line center could still be upgraded (trade Mason for one?)

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Jesus LOVES YOU!
2012, meet Matthew 24:36-47!

14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Weird how he broke his back playing for this team his career could have been over but he came back and got 10 goals and 10 assists yet everyone thinks he isn't good. It takes a whole lot of dedication to do what he did.
