ConstableSidhu
NYR_SourceCentral™ @NYRSourceCentrl #Canucks looking at Huet as possible backup for next season if Luongo is moved #nhl Collapse Reply Retweet Favorite Creasy @The_Creasy I'm told UFA G Cristobal Huet had a brief conversation with the#Canucks today. Two other teams have shown some interest in the vet goalie. Kevin Woodley @KevinisInGoal And yes, #Canucks fans wondering what comes after Luongo trade,Huet had lot of success + liked working with G Coach Rollie Melanson in MTL Kevin Woodley @KevinisInGoal @dedicated2YHVH No, just talked to Huet today + was looking at him as a fit as a veteran backup, something Canucks need if they move Luongo Thoughts? Ossi Vaananen
Is he still getting 5mil to play in the Swiss leagues from Chicago? I'd take him but I want Lack as back up or else he might walk...
DeNiro
It's kind of a gamble to have Lack as the backup already. At least if we plan on finishing at the top of the conference again. Theodore may be the better option, but if he's unwilling to come to Vancouver, Huet isn't a bad alternative. He had some good years in montreal with Melanson. Plus if Lack rips it up at the beginning of the season, he can always be waived, or loaned to a European club again.

Kack Zassian
Huet gives us a more proven option than Lack. I mean the 2 of them DO have a combined 68 NHL games...

Ossi Vaananen
Why would lack walk? he is still young and seems to be enjoying his time in the AHL. he gets to play more games and knows he would still be set to become CS's eventual backup.
