Los Angeles Kings first team to make offer to free agent Shane Doan

Second team to offer Shane Doan a contract is the San Jose Sharks

This was also on the Sportsnet ticker.

John Gambadoro is a Sports Radio Talk Show host on Sports 620 KTAR Phoenix, Arizona. He apparently broke the Steve Nash to LA deal.

Not sure if the source is credible but better than guys like Eklund and HockeyInsiderr.

Edit: Scott Reiss@ScottReissCSN

per @Gambo620: #sjsharks offer contract to Shane Doan

Also confirmed by Scott Reiss who is the Host of SportsNet Central, Giants Postgame Live, Sharks Postgame Live on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area/California.

Update: John Gambadoro@Gambo620

The third team to offer Coyotes Captain Shane Doan a contract following LA and San Jose is the Vancouver Canucks!

Not major news though it may seem like it. Lots of teams will offer Doan a contract, and just cause LA and the Sharks offered first doesn't mean they're front runners for him...he has to choose ultimately at the end what's best for him and as much as we know now, he either wants to resign with Phoenix or go to a Canadian contending team / Canucks.

...in overal, he'll get a bunch of offers but only a few will be looked at seriously by Shane.

I thought he would be too loyal a player to just get up and go to one of their biggest rivals. The Canucks on the otherhand have no rivalry with the Coyotes...

He'd probably get more ice time with the Canucks than Kings - playing on a top line with the Sedins as opposed to the 2nd line with Carter and Richards. He might not even got 1st line minutes with the Sharks.
